In 2021 it’s very unfortunate that I still have to correct statements in Elders Quorum lessons from members that say “people wouldn’t have depression if they embraced the gospel more”. Scripture study doesn’t fix clinical depression any more than it would a broken leg.

We’re taught that in these latter-days the very elect will be deceived. Sadly I think that’s true given that there are church members who reject clear scientific evidence regarding the effectiveness of vaccinations and face masks and prefer ridiculous conspiracy theories instead.

Who judges apostasy? Basically, only a stake president. A bishop can counsel with him, the stake president then must counsel with the area presidency, but he’s the judge. It’s right there in 32.6.3.2. So, unless you’re a stake president, stop calling people apostate.
