COVID is far more easily transmissible than flu and cold, so while masking, washing hands, and social distancing only helped some with preventing COVID spread, it was HIGHLY effective at stopping flu and cold spread.

A memory from 9/11: none of the news sites worked - you couldn’t get anything to load. I was in an office building with no TV. Before social media. But Slashdot was (mostly) up, so that’s how I kept up to date. Kudos to @cmdrtaco et al for that.
