Most years I do a “Best of XXXX” photo blog post. This year I apparently wrote the post but then forgot to publish. So here it is, 8 months late. Heavy on homecoming and senior portraits this year, but with an appearance from an American Idol finalist.

I’ve said it many times but it bears repeating: it’s a MIRACLE that more people weren’t shot by police that day. People can cry about Ashli Babbitt all they want, but the cops showed remarkable restraint.

People like her don’t ever seek out information, especially information that might run counter to their view of the world.

I explained the concept of Blockbuster to my teens recently. You went to a store on Friday night and wandered the aisles until you found something you wanted to watch. They only had a limited copies - if they were all out, you had to watch something else!
I’ve never felt older.

My theory is that the people he has working for him, his “cyber guys”, are all too happy to take his money and feed him stuff that means nothing but is enough to convince him. I think he believes what he’s saying but he doesn’t know enough to know he’s being conned by his people.

You should pause for a moment and reflect on whether this is the way you should talk to someone who is mourning the loss of a family member. It would have cost you nothing to keep your opinion to yourself.

That’s not true. Most antivaxxers are making the decision for another person (children). Also, unvaccinated people pose a risk to those who can’t be vaccinated for one reason or another.

You literally have to undergo classroom training, hours of practice, and then prove that you are competent at driving a car before you’re allowed to do so. I wonder how they’d feel about mandatory training and certification before being able to possess a firearm.

It’s pretty telling that she’s just using the tried and true MAGA “fake news” defense, but isn’t denying that any of it is accurate. If she didn’t speak to the DoJ, she could just say that.

Hermain Cain: Proudly declared that there would be no masks at Trump’s rally - came down with COVID.
Trump: Mocked Biden just a few days ago for always wearing a mask - came down with COVID.
I’m sure there’s a connection here, but I can‘t for the life of me figure it out.

Visual Basic had many flaws, but you could go from 0 to something useful in minutes. It feels weird that we don’t have something close to that experience in 2021.

One of the reason I follow Tyler is that his reporting is neutral (or as close to neutral as you can get). I’ve got no idea what his political affiliation is, and that’s a good thing. Advocating sending arms and aide to the Ukraine is not a political statement.

I go back and forth on whether anything will actually happen. I’ve concluded that there are enough of these morons that the odds are high that one or more is dumb enough to do it.

And the fact that the US Army raided a company in a friendly nation and took possession of their servers somehow didn’t make news ANYWHERE.
There’s a clear lack of critical thinking skills with these people.

As much as Republicans love to worship Reagan (and I liked him too), Reagan would despise the current Republican party. And they would call him a liberal RINO.

In the entire history of vaccines, there has never been a “long term effect”. Every side effect was identified in the 8 weeks post-vaccination.

Half of the “evidence” they share is bits of video taken out of context and “analyzed” by people who don’t know what they’re looking at.

She apparently insisted (twice) that they add a statement to what she signed saying that it was based on information provided to her rather than her own first hand knowledge. So she knew it was at least possible (if not likely) that what she was signing was a lie.

It very clearly says that his own aide recorded it at his direction. But it says a lot that you’re more upset about him being recorded than that he committed a crime.

She wrote a book and was paid for it. She disclosed that. Gorsuch did the same thing.
Thomas did absolutely nothing, was given lots of money/vacations/benefits, and didn’t disclose it. You really think that’s the same thing?
A memory from 9/11: none of the news sites worked - you couldn’t get anything to load. I was in an office building with no TV. Before social media. But Slashdot was (mostly) up, so that’s how I kept up to date. Kudos to

A former president is entitled by law to have secret service protection for the rest of his life, if he wants it. How does that work if he’s in prison?

“I feel sure that they didn't harass anyone”
We don’t make decisions on your feelings, we make them on evidence. Stalking people legally using a ballot box while armed is intimidation. There’s no evidence of ballot harvesting. You’re trying to solve a problem that doesn’t exist.
