the movie was made to show priscilla’s side of the story where she was groomed and abused and that it was not meant to be romanticized yet yall are doing the exact opposite of its purpose
if you somehow managed to misunderstand the movie, go read priscilla’s memoir “elvis and me”, the book the movie was based on. maybe her own words will make you understand better
we need more female characters who embrace both their femininity and intelligence. as little girls, the idea that we have to pick between one is pushed on us meanwhile that is never the case at all. you can take over the world on high heels.
@Jsepaisa
she wrote the memoir herself + took part in the making of the movie + said sofia did such a good job with the movie and portrayed everything accurately
maybe an unpopular opinion but i don’t think authors must try all genres, ofc it’s so great to try out different things but sticking to only one genre wouldn’t also make them a bad author if that’s what they’re best at
@Bingsujung
can i also say that every negative review i saw of it had reasonable explanations and back ups from the book? like i don’t think it’s fair to call it a review bombing when people are voicing their dislikes with reason (im sorry if i missed a part where it acc happened)
@leonidasvaldz
i’m not chinese, yet i also felt the same things while reading it. also the fact that the fmc was such a hypocrite on her actions just made me uncomfortable. it’s such a great idea but i feel like it was a sensitive topic handled wrong for the sake of romance
they completely ruined the meaning of aurora. it was for camila, she heard it first. they made her out of everything and made billy put the album before his family but the title song was about his family. aurora was his redemption by being there for twins’ unlike last time.
hey everyone this is a reminder to take the fonts out of your account since screen readers can’t read + it’s making it harder for people with seeing/reading disabilities to read
@wiltedpages
calling it a review bombing when people are just voicing their honest opinions without attacking the author is so misleading and nasty. reviewers should be allowed to have opinions without fearing being disturbed like this
just finished if i loved you less and it was everything to me seeing a muslim girl being a sweet hopeless romantic, we deserve our little love stories like that as well 🤍 don’t forget to read this book in july
boycotts are not just a statement on where you stand, it’s actual purpose is to cause damage on their sales so they would support funding for a genocide. in the most basic way; the more you drink from starbucks, the more money goes to the army to provide them weapons and such.
me during the “mothers stand still, so their daughters can look back to see how far they've come” scene knowing i’m leaving mine in a year to move to a different country and she’s not coming with me
illyria and its people have existed way before sjm or any of us did. people named their children nesta way before that book. she can’t just claim to own the names that have been around for centuries. 2+2=4
Wondering what it’s like to be a Jew in Melbourne these days? At my tram stop last week in my Jewish neighbourhood; a call to destroy the world’s only Jewish state.
azriel pretending to wipe off the flour on elain’s face but smearing it more then suddenly it turns into a flour fight where they chase each other around the house laughing and throwing flour
@Jsepaisa
the fact that the woman who went through those herself say it was accurate yet you are still looking for plot holes is actually disgusting, stop commenting on women’s stories if you can never understand them
1) show me where it says gwyn and az are mates
2) sarah herself said that the guys are a part of the girls’ stories. they don’t get their own books, their stories get told on their girl’s book and i don’t think she’ll write about a character that was newly introduced
@walkriel
gwyn is most probably az's love interest and his mate, so she will be part of ic eventually. and even if she is a side character, sjm will be writing about az's story. so when she does that it automatically means that gwyn will get a book.
and as much as we break the stereotypes, this thought still exists hence those posts about not mean/fighting characters seeing as fragile and not-badass
no because i’m so excited for “four eids and a funeral” by
@faridahlikestea
and
@adiba_j
, i’ve always loved reading about people actually working on their feelings and the plot + seeing my faith as a main element makes my heart so happy 🥺🤍
aw she got to have her baby? reminder that women in gaza are having c-sections without anesthesia, children are dying out of starvation and not even two days old babies are being martyred and she’s supporting all that
@hollowplacesx
the hawthorne legacy felt like an ending until the last bits, i believe she could’ve wrapped it up nicely in that one rather than forcing it into a trilogy
why are you, as a woman, hating on women from all ages dressing up in pink clothes and enjoying a movie about girlhood together? the “am i the only one doesn’t care about barbie” “when will this barbie crazy be over” tiktoks are no fun
"We are better than others," a girl from Gaza says as she bids farewell to her father. We will miss you, Father, but unlike others, we were at least able to say our goodbyes."
i don’t mind rose being a mother to many kids. i however mind rose giving up on things and having to change plans meanwhile connor had everything he said he wanted to have since the beginning of the series
quote this tweet and tell me your addicted/like us opinion about character or in general about something that you know many people will disagree, dont be shy!!!
“stay woke” and it’s not wanting to be okay with an ethnic cleansing literal modern n
@zis
😭also what is good quality about “alphahole” or “His growls of pleasure filled the tent, drowning out the distant cries of the injured and dying.”
