Rhaenys could have unfastened her braces and fallen into the sea, but she didn’t want to die a Velaryon death. She chooses to fall with — and under the weight of — her dragon, knowing there will be no rising from it. She dies a Targaryen. Now you know where Laena got that from.
Having seen the
#HOTD
season finale in its entirety, all I want to say to fellow Fire&Blood readers is: forget what you know. HOTD aims to reinterpret the book completely and, by doing so, tell a different story. It’s even more clear now, as they set up s3.
In season 2 or Shadow and Bone, I need Nikolai to flirt with literally everyone he interacts with and I need Mal to be so confused when that person is him
The Shadow and Bone season 2 trailer needs to end with Wylan making something explode, then the screen fades to black and we hear Nikolai’s voice saying “impossible? improbable.”
I swear the prefix “Rhae” is a curse to most Targaryens:
Rhaenys Conqueror? Dead in Dorne. Rhaenys the Queen Who Never Was? Died in battle. Rhaenyra? Had her throne usurped. Rhaella? Died in childbirth. Rhaegar? Died in battle. Little Rhaenys? Murdered. Rhaego? Mirri Maaz Dur.
“yes but they were only half-siblings!” is a weak pro-greens argument.
Rhaenyra’s own children were half-siblings, and she raised them all as brothers. Jace loves Aegon the younger as much as he loves Luke. Rhaenyra made sure Daemon was a father to all of them equally.
Emma D’Arcy debuts on tonight’s

.
As you welcome our new
#Rhaenyra
, please remember that Emma is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns. Please respect their identity and don’t misgender them. Thank you!
❤️🔥
“HOTD is the true and objective version” is a weak argument. You can’t justify every change with “The maesters weren’t there” because that’s implying that everything that IS in F&B is made up by the maesters. Did they invent Mushroom just so he could be lewd and contradict them?
people being like: he’s saying Daemon can’t solve the feud between Blackwoods and Brackens because he’s no politician!
WHAT POLITICIAN IN WESTEROSI HISTORY WAS EVER ABLE TO SOLVE THAT CONFLICT??? This isn’t about that. It’s about making Daemon seem stupid because they hate him.
You know what’s great about this line? Viserys made a genuine mistake, his health is deteriorating, and yet Alicent feels in competition with a woman who’s been dead for over a decade.
People will say “Fire & Blood was written to be interpreted” which is fair. I just wish the show would stick with one narrative, instead of creating inconsistencies and shifting the focus and point of the story. This is my opinion. If people enjoy the episode, I’m happy for them
Season 2 of Shadow and Bone is officially underway! Not sure if principal photography with the main cast starts today or if they are still in the last stages of pre-production, but it’s started!
News of the cast should be coming soon. Or leaks, knowing the fandom 🤣
@nowaybrag
Everyone working on the show had to sign an NDA, valid for 5 years, I believe. It’s pretty standard for the industry, nothing unordinaty about GOT doing it, it’s just going to be fun watching actors saying the complete opposite of what they’ve been saying now that they can speak.
With everything we’ve seen of Alys Rivers so far, it’s so hard to imagine her future storyline with Aemond. That’s why she and Daemon had no interaction in the book. How do we go from this to that? They’ll need to change a lot for it to remotely make sense.
Nielsen reports that
#ShadowandBone
garnered 1.2 BILLION streaming hours between April 26 and May 2. ONE BILLION HOURS. IN ONE WEEK.
The entire show is not even 8 hours long. Imagine how many people have watched it in the one month it’s been out.
After rewatching ep 4, I truly think it’s as near perfection as we will ever get.
There are surprises here and there and a couple of small additions to keep us on the edge of our seats.
Above all it’s classic, epic, GRRM.
Brace yourselves.
The way Daemon was prepared to lie to the whole realm and his brother, but the moment Rhaenyra asked him if he was going to be a father, he didn’t say “yes,” he said “one day”
… TO THEIR CHILDREN
One thing I fault HOTD is how they constantly wish to create tension where it’s not needed. I understand the difficulty of adapting this particular story and needing more dynamism, but some of the things that are written in the name of “more tension” don’t turn out well.
Netflix has cancelled
#TheIrregulars
which could mean that
- they’re reallocating all the budget for that show into
#ShadowAndBone
season 2
but also that
- they’re not above canceling a show that they spent a lot of money on after one season
A list of female characters whose narratives Marvel fucked up:
- Peggy Carter, her show cancelled
- Natasha Romanoff, apparently she’s a monster because she can’t have children
- Valkyrie, her canon bisexuality erased
- Lady Sif, she wasn’t in Ragnarok and nobody said anything
Did I like episode 7 of HOTD? Sure, I didn’t dislike it. But there are pointless inconsistencies, and I wish they’d stop changing things just for the sake of it
This secret “undercover” trip to King’s Landing with one guard alone was worse than Cole sending Arryk to Dragonstone. It was incredibly dangerous, it solved nothing, and Rhaenyra’s council and family will be livid.
so y’all know how every week I’m like “wow this episode was the best”? well, they did it again. scoot over ep 7, because 8 is simply something else. it’s much more catastrophic in tone, we’re officially drawing to the season’s close, and it’s palpable.
Why are y’all being negative about
#ShadowAndBone
season 2 after everything we did to get it? Next to nothing has been announced, why do some of y’all just always have to be the contrarians
I apologize in advance for the person I’ll become when I’m allowed to talk about
#ShadowAndBone
on here. I’m doing a fifth rewatch this week so I’m basically noticing specks of dust at this point.
When the
#ShadowAndBone
cast recreates the dinner picture on the set of season 2 but with the actors playing Nikolai and Wylan and Tamar and Tolya... only then we truly win
@emcotrufello
Alina surprised me because I liked her on the tv show a millions times more than in the books. Mal too. He was just amazing. Beyond. It’s gonna be hard for antis to hate him here.
We’re so worried about who will play Wylan when in reality we should also be worried about who will play Kuwei since the same actor is probably going to also play Wylan for almost an entire season
Why write Aemond flying to Dragonstone at all, if Rhaenyra can’t annihilate him there and then?
Her only line in episode 1 was “I want Aemond Targaryen.” Now they give him to her, one dragon against five, no armies or civilians below them, and she can’t do anything about it.
y’all: Alina chose to loser her power and settled for a man
reality: Alina attempted to wield three amplifiers and the universe stripped her of her own power in retribution
When they start making Shadow and Bone Funko Pops and they make a million different ones for Alina because of all the different keftas she wears and then the different hair we all become broke
@lightwoodscones
I loved them. David is the comic relief we deserve. Genya... is exactly what she is in the book. If you enjoyed them in the book, you’ll love them.
There’s a scene in the next episode of
#HouseoftheDragon
that will make you scream in frustration and want to cover your eyes and then, a minute later, scream in excitement.
“You’re stupid about a lot of things, Wylan, but you are not stupid. And if I ever hear you call yourself a moron again, I’m going to tell Matthias you tried to kiss Nina. With tongue.”
Would Daemon internally want to see his own firstborn son on the throne? (Oh, the irony) Probably yes. Does he do anything about it? No, because that’s not what Rhaenyra wants. They raise all their kids as a family, with no jealousy or rivalry, and that’s how you do it.
Mal’s personality wasn’t changed. We just see things from multiple perspectives instead of simply from Alina’s eyes, so we are not tied to her perception like we are in the books. This has been a PSA.
