Thanks to the folks at @LACOFD , you can now get non-beach sand for your sandbags at Zuma Beach. Find the sand pile in Lot 6 next to the maintenance yard. Remember, beach sand should stay on the beach! #LARain

The access road to the Point Dume parking lot is CLOSED to vehicles and pedestrians. This is the access road that connects the entrance on Westward Beach Road to the parking lot. Last night’s string surf and high tides further undermined it. Please stay away.

Questions about what you can do at the beach during this weekend's closures? The answer is "nothing," but we have an FAQ anyway: . Beaches are closed from 12:01 a.m. Friday - 5 a.m. Monday. That includes July 4. Violators may face fines of up to $1,000.

The high tides over the past few nights have undermined the access road to the Point Dume parking lots. We’re placing boulders to try to prevent further damage tonight. The parking lots and access road are closed. We don’t know when they’ll reopen.

. @MMCCLA has established a triage area for sea lions on the Marina Peninsula just north of Marina del Rey. This will help them care for animals sick from domoic acid. The sick animals may become aggressive when further stressed. Please STAY AWAY & keep your dogs off the beach!

Remember, the beaches were open the first weekend of the closure. 10,000+ people disregarded the #SaferAtHome order & went to the beach. The beaches were closed because of those crowds.

High tides continued to eat away at the remnants of the Point Dume access road & the area remains CLOSED to members of the public. We saw erosion at all of our beaches this weekend, but nothing as dramatic as what happened at Point Dume.
