As a student and now an owner, unpaid internships/apprenticeships still don't make sense to me. Paid ones represent such a tiny % of payroll but mean the world to the trainees. It is also the difference in if you can attract trainees from vulnerable/underprivileged backgrounds.

So 5 years ago at the height of my second worse Pemphigus flare, on more than 80mg daily prednisone doses, methotrexate and some other crazy medicines.... functioning on 3 good days per week, I managed to graduate.
