History is fun: the tower of library of the Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven, Belgium) was inspired by the Giralda in Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain. The Giralda is a minaret turned into a cathedral bell tower. It was the model for 10 other towers around the world.

This is appalling. Israel’s UN ambassador says they are not fighting humans but monsters. Even the most murderous terrorist remains a human. Isn’t this what we all have learned from the Holocaust? Or from the Rwanda genocide? Dehumanising is unacceptable, in every situation.

Today it's 6 years ago ca. 1.000 people were massacred in Rabaa, Cairo. It was the most bloody and divisive day in Egypt in decades. Nobody was ever held responsible. I truly hope that day will come soon. RIP.
