Small tip – when browsing for layout inspiration from websites, it's sometimes good to "neutralize" the colors to be able to focus on the core elements better.
A full preview of the unsolicited partial redesign of

homepage. Got to learn Astro, Framer Motion and how them fancy websites implement gradient borders.

I've found it to limit creativity and exploration a lot when applied too early. Also feels bit more important in "structured, data heavy" UI designs, less so in marketing web designs.

That's literally like taking ownership of coming up with a sentence. It's not that difficult. It's not that unique. And it's definitely not "your artwork" because of it.
I've been following Framer & Webflow for years and tbh I still don't get who they're for.
Are they mainly for designers who can't code?
Because they don't seem like great design tools, they don't seem great coding tools. What are people paying for exactly?
Still working on adding articles and overviews of previous work, but already open for some freelance consulting.
Let me know if you have an early stage product in need of marketing and/or UI design & development.
Love to work with Figma, NextJS, Remix, React, Tailwind, TS etc.
I've been pasting random Wikipedia links into NotebookLM and generating short podcasts on any topic that comes to mind.
This really feels like the Chat_GPT moment of audio.
The recent "early days of Dribbble" nostalgia tweets are so bizarre. Dribbble has always been a "nice colors, bro" website. There never were any incentives for constructive feedback. Idk what ya'll are nostagic about.
@jsngr
I have yet to see a good generated UI design that's not just a page of rearranged shadcn components.
I much prefer this approach to making AI useful for designers.
I tried giving NotebookLM the link to my Twitter feed and got back this.
If the downfall of humanity is going to be this flattering, I'm all for our new computer overlords.

For me it was actually point for Cursor for being built on top of VSCode. Was able to copy over all my settings, extensions and themes with just one click - zero friction onboarding.
@simonswiss
You were the best Tailwind educator back when you were on the team and you continue to be the best now that you’re doing your own thing! Rooting for you! 🙌
Considering the insane effort and polish being put into these designs, it's kinda bummer they're starting to feel copy-paste'ish with the recent ALL PURPLE trend.

From my experience, the feed is mostly tailored for engagement baits. I can't keep up with the muting and "not interested" everything.
I'm surprised that no one has yet put together a good Copilot course for developers. There's SO much productivity and leverage to be gained from knowing when and how to engage Copilot, but if you're using it just as a "smart autocomplete" you're missing out on 90% of it.
I wanted to make some screen recordings of cool websites for inspiration.
So of course I spent two days building a Chrome extension to automatically scroll between saved scrollpoints using timed easings.
As someone recovering from mental struggles and entering the job market, the current landscape of layoffs, freelance gigs being frozen, budget cuts, AI replacements make it really though to try and stay optimistic about things. My heart goes out to everyone in the same boat.
Generating screenshots of code is cool, but you know what's cooler? Generating videos of your code.
Been prototyping a little tool to make animated walkthroughs of code snippets for social media. 👀
Here is a behind-the-scenes process of the loop I made for the
@linear
launch today.
I wish it were more complicated than pouring canola oil on my daughters iPad, but that was essentially it.
The attached video shows the final footage alongside the original, unaffected capture.
Been trying to figure out a way to get myself back into web design/dev. I’ve been burnt out for so long I’ve started to severely doubt my skills.
Could I maybe try helping someone short term for free with frontend/design just to get my wheels turning again?
