Wonderful news, Creamsicle 1 roamed around the first floor today, inspected everything first in a frenzied way and then mapped out some excellent hiding spots (some of which were prepared with soft stuff) and then came back to his room for a much-needed nap.

Creamsicle was frightened by the storm today. I imagine a downpour with lightning is pretty serious business for an outdoor cat. 💔 Charles ran out to get him his favorite food tonight (Friskies pate, as far as we can tell) to help him feel better.

The post-storm Friskies pate was deeply appreciated. I'd been giving him Angelo's IAMS wet kitten food, and Miss CeCe's fish packets, but he seems to be a pate man. He is so soft and beautiful, just lushly gorgeous. ❤ Cream Puff ❤

It APPEARS that Creamsicle 1 played on the floor with the feather ball toy I've been tickling him with, as the rug was all rucked up and the toy was on top of it. Most excellent!

A certain Creamsicle is intensely interested in whatever it is I am doing down here on his bed (watching a Wimbledon match on my computer) and this is thrilling, he has forgotten himself briefly and is consumed by curiosity. 💪🔥

Creamsicle 1 is doing really well. I haven't taken any good pix of him in the past days, as most of our interactions are in the dawn or at night. In the daytime he naps on the top of the wardrobe, which is a place neither of the two softies know how to reach. Sleepy boy!

I know Creamsicle is thinking of his family, he is likely going through stages of grief. In the early hours before dawn he meows at the windows, no doubt calling for his people. We are just loving him steadily but respecting his loss. 💔 Today he kept to himself. Sweet boy.

He loves it when I hold him close, on my shoulder, and murmur to him softly, moving around the room- like soothing a baby. He let me pet him with the Catnip Banana, and he tried a new food. He sat on the bed with me and let me kiss his head. It's precious.

Feeling like Creamsicle will never come down from the top of the wardrobe for me again! When baby Angelo tried to jump up onto his lower perch with him that was that and up he stayed. I haven't held him in a long time now, and he loved that so much. Patience, patience.

Queen of the house, our sweet CeCe. She tries to soothe Creamsicle 1 on her visits to his room by sitting quietly on his bed, exuding safe vibes. Such a darling. And she let's Angelo nuzzle her belly, her armpit, her butt. He misses his mother, wherever she went.

Fortunately he's eating well, using his box, and purrs when he is petted. Thankful. Oddly for a feral, he likes to be petted while he eats, but this is probably because mealtime was when Patrick and Theresa were able to pet him. I think of the time they've spent, gaining trust.

Creamsicle is also doing very well, soft and clean, but is so unready to integrate with CeCe and Angelo that he is spending all of his time on top of the wardrobe. I am backtracking a bit, keeping his door closed until he asks to come out again. Maybe sleep in his room tonight...

It's so hot outside. I think of how burned little Angelo's paws were, and of his small injuries, and I am so grateful that he is inside my heart hurts thinking about what he suffered. He was just a little baby, all alone. 💔 Thankful that he's healed now, and at a normal weight.

When we adopted CeCe she was 6 mos old, but as tiny as Angelo (just under 4 lbs.) because she had been so ill with respiratory viruses. She is a very social cat who was lonely as an only, so she is in heaven now with two to love. She is 5 now, but this photo was at 6 mos. old.

I closed his room door again so he would feel in control of his space. I feel very... bumbling about this, but I'm still getting slow blinks and stretches, and he lets me pet him, so I assume that in days months or decades, he will lay on the bed or something. ❤

@rbudd_budd He is deep water, a very sensitive person. I think about what it takes to survive outside, and how the Orangeys must help and teach each other about dangers. And to have been bullied adds a whole other layer to our selves, making it so challenging to be sure of others' motives.

@SkinnerPm We have small, smooth, unmarked pale silvery snakes in our grass, they are so beautiful. I cannot identify them! Wait- I'm a fraud if I can't weed every day? Lord knows I do my best but our yard is so huge and I've been way too ambitious with my plantings. 😿😿
