Learning to code just became 10x easier!
@enkidevs
just launched an AI coding coach experience that just… works.
Think “Superhuman for learning to code” 🧵

On behalf of
@enkidevs
, excited to announce Enki AI!
We’ve taught 2 million professionals, and are now the biggest 1:1 coaching service in the world.
Check out our demo video and how Enki is building the ultimate work skills coach.
@ljxie
Then he should’ve gone all the way — called it a retrospective, shared prioritized takeaways in a Notion doc, asked other exes for their comments. All ready for discussion with future girlfriend when she’s onboarding
🤣
@GaryLineker
@leekern13
The march is literally organised by a Hamas-sympathising group
This plays into their hands and you’re taking the bait
With power and influence comes a lot of responsibility — I really recommend thinking at least a little more on topics that can cause a lot of harm
@GaryLineker
@Suhail
(I am in the US, but as a Russian..)
It's a few days after the election and we still don't know who the winner is 100%. The Russians have a much better system -- they know who the winner is BEFORE the election 🤣
@schlaf
If the partner at the fund was hypothetically looking for something new, would the founder want to start that same business with them?
This cuts 90%+.
Being a founding CEO means you only have two work moods:
- I’m a demigod, I reign supreme over everyone
- Even amoebas are smarter than me and would have done a better job
And you pretty much switch from one to another several times a day
Being a developer means you only have two work moods:
- I’m a demigod, I reign supreme over machines
- Even amoebas are smarter than me and would have figured out this by now
And you pretty much switch from one to another several times a day
OH your happiness is positively correlated with the % of weekends in which you want to focus on what you usually do, rather than get away from what you usually do
@auren
everyone tells me I'm crazy for flying transatlantic twice a month
although for me each flight is essentially 8 hours of uninterrupted work, which is gold dust
@nikitabier
I can’t believe no-one mentioned this:
The inconvenience, stress and time-loss (related to charging needs) when doing long and/or remote trips
@paulg
do you not think a lot of pro-Palestinian / Hamas sympathising content on TikTok and elsewhere was “coordinated” also?
Genuine question. How much of the content from both sides in the information war stems from some kind of “coordination”?
Secrets and Stories is back - this time with the one and only
@justinkan
!
The episode on Tuesday will be all about team performance.
What worked (and didn't work) at Twitch and Atrium? How did he build and motivate his teams? And much much more...
@nateobrienn
Even without a line I never go to the lounges - their food and atmosphere is worse than in pretty much every airport restaurant
But the card is definitely worth it - just for the air miles if you use them right
this is a good, specific example of the more general advice (which applies not to just recruitment):
understand and align incentives early in the process.
The best piece of advice for early stage startup recruiting I can fit into a tweet: Don’t interview candidates who are also interviewing at FB, Google, etc. These folks always end up joining BigCo. The precision on this heuristic is unreal: 100% out of n ≈ 10 offers we’ve made.
Announcing EnkiCamp!
Read the post below about how it's completely transforming the teams that
@enkidevs
is working with.
It saves time, helps to execute faster, and improves culture.
A no-brainer for any team that wants to move as fast as possible.
Just spent time in SF for the first time in a year
It may be full of shit politically and literally
But the feeling of magic is still there.
It’s still the MVP of places to be if you’re building an MVP. And it’s not even close.
Copywriting is just design using words and language.
Improving copy is 80% removing unnecessary words.
Improving design is 80% removing unnecessary actions and features.
@KateBour
IMHO the best ones here (empathy, focus, listening) are often mentioned, so I wouldn’t consider them overrated. I’d say “strengthening your relationship with your partner and the people closest to you in your support network”. The impact of this on a business is never discussed.
Celebrating 1 million Enki learners! And announcing the next version of our app.
One more step towards building the continuous learning coach of the future.
90% of what makes a company execute well comes down to effective communication and empathy between its teams.
Yet 90% of companies don't focus on improving this.

Let's get America back to work!
@sbyrnes
@lpolovets
it’s just code for “not exciting for me right now, but if things change a lot then maybe”.
But not sure why they don’t literally say that.
Every entrepreneur I’ve spoken to says they would respect the VC more if they did so.
@BiruckAnmaw
@paulg
Following through on what you’ll say you’ll do. Being easily accessible during critical times. Not disappearing when the going gets tough.
@Suhail
@garrytan
My variant is 5 or 6 year vest, back-weighted. I think 1 year cliff is reasonable because you should get *some* equity if you contributed for say 18-24mo. But if that’s how long you stay for, you’d vest 10-20% at most.
Money can give you happiness. But only a very specific type of happiness! One that comes from solving brand new types of problems that are available or thrown at you as a result of having money.
But it’s also easy to be miserable if you don’t solve those new problems well.
Recently moved to LA and would love to get to know the startup community here!
Aside from
@rrhoover
, who are the best connected entrepreneurs or those working on interesting stuff here?
Excited to be hosting a BLOCKBUSTER webinar on how a few of the companies you've heard in the news recently invested in their data culture
(which, it turns out, was one of the biggest reasons for their success. You'll have to listen in to find out why.)
even if you have zero interest in tennis, the stats nerd inside you should get excited
a qualifier winning a slam without losing a set in all 10 matches is almost definitely never going to happen ever again
@EmmaRaducanu
— simply amazing!
@LCaffeinated
@chipnanimus
Nice i like it. But wouldn’t it be quicker to think (48+2 = 50) + (27-2 = 25)
Because 50 + 25 is easier than 45 + 30, and 2 < 3?
Super excited to launch a NEW product next week -- to help get America BACK TO WORK!
If you're one of the millions affected by Covid or laid off in 2020, then stay tuned....
We will get you back and STRONGER than ever before.
LLM bullshit knife, to cut through bs

Why the “X for startups” branding makes so much sense when you start an enterprise company
a) 90% of potential clients -want- their brand and culture to be associated with startups
b) in 90% of cases it’s the only distribution starting point as
@DavidSacks
says
First sell to startups.
Then sell to LOB (line of business / departments).
Then sell enterprise wide.
Almost impossible for a SaaS startup to build sales momentum any other way.

Thousands of people are already getting 1:1 coaching with the help of Enki AI every day. Some of the use cases:
- Learning to code
- Mastering data, no-code and BI tools
- Learning best practices and new technologies
- Applying AI tools to workflows
Excited to share that the video of my TedX talk is live!
I pitch "The Big Switch" - a trend accelerated during the pandemic - which has created a new American Dream.
And I talk about some of the opportunities that you might find in this new reality.
Next week is going to be one for the books.
Launching a new product and announcing another.
And even more exciting — the whole (usually remote)
@enkidevs
team is working together from London.
Hell yeah! 🥳

For companies, Enki is the most effective way to onboard a whole team to its tooling and productivity stack.
As a result, they execute faster org-wide, make better decisions, AND save costs.
Enki AI now allows us to scale to companies with thousands of employees.
What happened in most countries was a knee-jerk “we need to freeze everything to buy time to understand / figure this out”
And the result will be common-sense proposals like this, everyone wearing masks, and others
"65X+ difference in deaths between ages 18-44 and those 75+.
Under certain age people rarely die, and 90% who do have diabetes, cancer, immune compromised, etc.
[Proposal] Under 50, doesn't live with anyone > 50 & lacks comorbidities, no longer subject to future quarantines."
@briannekimmel
Props to the thought to start the conversation, but this is one of the most “it depends” things I’ve ever heard. This is like saying “going to a party to meet new friends is a massive waste of time”. Obviously it depends on what kind of event you’re going to..
Seeing a lot of people surprised that you can get COVID if you’ve been vaccinated.
The reality is that the vaccine massively reduces the chances of severe symptoms and the length of time you have COVID in your system, but it doesn’t stop you from getting it (or passing it on).
@mwseibel
for sure, although you gotta have both. ensure everyone is crystal clear about what they're doing, why, and be super motivated about the why.
If you think Slack's product is easy or small, here's how 'easy' their notifications are. (And bear in mind this chart is before they released 'Pause' features)
I get sent tens of startup pitches a day but I’m not investing right now — fully focused on
@enkidevs
what should I do with those? Ignore? Nice replies to build network? Forward all / good ones to relevant investor friends?

THIS IS A BIG DEAL! The results show we're on to something big:
86% completion of learning objectives, 90 NPS, 80% cost savings relative to in-house training.
Enki has now designed hands down the most effective format to pick up any new tool or hard skill.
@thogge
..with a 4 year cliff. lots of problems with this, not least that it’s unfair to not get any equity if you leave after say 2-3 productive years. If back weighted and longer, sthg like X = {5, 15, 30, 50, 75, 100} where you get X% after n years reduces the potential misalignment
2/7
Enki AI leverages key LLM models (like GPT-4 and Claude) and expands their capabilities.
It's human-like, on-demand, infinitely patient (similar to ChatGPT)
But Enki AI is ALSO tailored to what you’re learning, your profile, goals, and your company’s tooling and workflows.
@zachcoelius
I think it’s just a *relatively* small, loud group of people who need affirmation for their decision-making and don’t want to be isolated
(plus, clearly none of them ski)
from my point of view: fair enough on the first point. definitely not on the second
@OliverCash9
@BennettJonah
@primalpoly
Yes there’s a big market for content which sounds good, is in fact absolutely useless (or bad advice), but hard to test without material skin in the game
@lpolovets
hm, I think for the best founders it’s the opposite in terms of antifragility:
each major flip has a 5-50% chance of making a trajectory-changing positive impact on the company.
While letting the company die is not an option.
Our whole family just did our Shabbat ritual altogether, for the first time over... zoom.
No reason we couldn’t have done it before, but this crazy time enabled it.
The whole of
@enkidevs
content is now open-source! Now you can leverage the largest learning community of developers in the world to teach others and learn even more effectively.
