I was only 42 when I got diagnosed with cancer. I remember the doctors were baffled by the finding. I didn’t fit the type they said. We all know cancer doesn’t discriminate, and with today being #worldcancerday I tend to go inward quiet a bit.

I walked into my 30s, as a gay man. I accepted who I was. I started the journey of loving me. Initially, it was a lonely. I lost friends but made new ones. I also discovered a queer family here in Kenya and realised that I wasn’t alone any more.
