Callaway's Cartavious "Tank" Bigsby ran for 270 yards on 26 carries with two touchdowns against Brooks County. For the season, Tank had 1,636 yards on 143 carries (11.4 yards a carry) with 27 touchdowns. What a spectacular prep career Tank had and the best is no doubt yet to come

It has been an emotionally exhausting week for the LaGrange College baseball family. It's obvious how much these men care for each other, and I know there was nowhere they'd rather be than on the ballfield, and their lost teammates were first and foremost in their thoughts.

The LaGrange Panthers went 44-9, won a fifth straight conference title, won a regional, won a super regional, and went 2-2 in the World Series. It was an extraordinary team and an awesome group of players. Congrats Panthers, and thanks for the memories. You guys are the best.

What struck me when LaGrange's Trae Cole returned a punt for a touchdown last week was the joy that was felt by his teammates and coaches. It was really cool to see that reaction, and it was obvious how loved he was. Thoughts and prayers to all those who knew him and loved him.

Congrats to LaGrange College's Joe Ruth, who set the NCAA Division III record for hits in a season with 104. In 50 games, Joe is hitting .446 with 10 home runs and 82 RBIs. Joe had three hits in Friday's 12-0 World Series win over Trinity. The third hit was the record setter.

Congratulations to former LaGrange High football coach Steve Pardue who has been selected for induction into the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Coach Pardue was 161-45 during his time at LaGrange, and he led the Grangers to state titles in 2001, 2003 and 2004.

A reminder that Terry Godwin was a lot more than just a football player at Callaway. He also excelled in basketball and baseball. As a junior he was a part of two final-four teams (football and basketball) and a quarterfinal team (baseball). He was drafted by the Braves in 2015.

On Thursday, Matt Napier got his first win as a head coach when LaGrange beat Northside-Columbus. Two days later, Matt's brother Billy Napier, the head coach at Louisiana, led his team to a win over a ranked Iowa State team. Great few days for the Napier family. Congrats.

LaGrange College (41-6) has set a single-season record for wins, surpassing the 2017 team that went 40-6. The Panthers are one victory away from a spot in the NCAA Division III Baseball Championship. The eight super regional winners will meet in Iowa to determine a champion.

Congratulations to Greenville's Kentavious Caldwell-Pope on winning an NBA championship. He's been a standout player since coming into the league in 2013, and he was a big part of this Lakers' team. Hopefully there'll be a parade in downtown Greenville. That would be really cool.
