When I was on My Star, the winner won P100,000 and I came second and won P15,000. I built the foundation of my first small rental home with the money. Completed the house with my college job 6 years ago and now the rent money takes care of my grandmother. 🥂

I‘ve always lived below my means. My varsity job I earned R16-20k plus the R3k student allowance but I only spent about R7-8k a month. Season I’d work 11 shifts a week & clock R40-60k/month. I never acquired unnecessary costs in that time. It allowed me SO MUCH financial freedom.

I grouted my own floors, painted the house myself, did the doors, installed the locks, filled cracks and sanded them down, restored old door frames. All that I inherently got from my dad and I love it so much. 🤍 I saved 8k just on painting.
