Be an ag teacher in west TX they said, it’ll be fun they said.. Just kidding! 😆18 degrees but feels like 13. Our county show is officially under way 🐷🐄✨🐖🐮
People often ask “What’s the point in showing livestock? It’s a waste of time, the kids don’t do the work.” - I’m here to tell you these three girls have worked harder than some adults ever do in the last hour. The work ethic + responsibility they learn in a barn is next to none.
My mom and dad got me a lawn mower and weed eater for Christmas, they’ve either given up hope on me finding a husband or they’re really encouraging that independent girl shit. We’ll go with option 2 😂🤣
Last day of school at the best first ag teaching job a girl could ask for. I will miss Muleshoe High School and all the people more here than they know. Closing a four year chapter today, but cheers to opening a new one! 💛

They say it goes by fast, and they weren’t kidding…I blinked and I was starting year 6!!! 🤭 Praying for the very BEST school year to one and to all 💕🫶🏻✏️

There’s nothing I hate more than hearing someone explain that FFA is not sows, cows and plows. This phrase has got to go🚫 Can we not just explain that FFA is a student led organization that promotes leadership, personal growth and most importantly career readiness?
A couple years ago I wanted to implement “real world Friday’s” (but got busy) where we go over skills that are becoming a lost art among this generation of youth like thank you notes, firm handshake, writing checks, changing tire, proper emails, etc. Suggestions on topics?
Although it’s been an amazing four years, when opportunity knocks sometimes you have to answer and seize it… as life goes every great thing must eventually come to a close. I’m so humbled to announce that I’ve accepted a position as an ag teacher at Frenship High School! 💙🐯💛
Last night we had the privilege to speak at a fundraiser over 4-H and FFA! Pretty special night. 🤍 Also, getting up to speak publicly in front of adults is way harder than teaching 25 high school kids in a class period 🤪
I have a first hand look at the next generation every single day and it’s really scary at the lack of effort, social skills, and common sense they have. Time to start having Friday life lessons!
Teaching ag isn’t for the weary, it’s long hours, listening to lots of griping but watching kids succeed and building relationships makes it so worth it 🙌🏻 A success local stock show to kick off the spring marathon.
Over 2.50” of rain in Muleshoe last night, and it rained HARD all night! Can’t remember a thunderstorm like that in a long time. Thank you Lord for a good rain! 🌧🙌🏻
I’m not sure there’s a greater joy as an ag teacher than watching a kid who has never raised a livestock project get their very first animal. Pure love and excitement.
Had students make a BAD mess in my classroom with floral foam while I was gone, and another kid showed me a video. Every last one of them wrote an apology to the janitor for the mess. They can disrespect me, but they will not disrespect someone else who has to clean their mess.
Open house/meet the teacher night for high school… why don’t they think it’s as important at high school age as it is in elementary? I only had 5 parents stop by and I teach over 150 kids. Kinda sad.
The saga about my dating life continues with the natives (high school kids)… Today they asked me why I didn’t have a farmers only to meet a cowboy to help me take care of said pigs I own. 💀 You literally can’t make this $h!t up.
Wanted to be lazy and order room service to my hotel room after a long day at the State Fair but not for a 22% up charge so I happily walked my lazy ass down to the restaurant and will happily wait 10 mins for free.

Also can’t believe it’s been a month since I’ve tweeted but moving into a house, a new town, getting a new classroom ready is not for the faint of heart. My first day on the job is Monday traveling with 29 kids to Texas FFA State Convention! Can’t wait for what’s ahead.

I’ve started my day off the last 9 days reading my devotional instead of immediately getting on social media when I wake up and the difference it makes starting my day off right is huge. Happy Wednesday! 👏🏻
Even at 29 I still get a giddy excited feeling to be headed home to my parents for Christmas. So grateful they’ve always made the holidays at home extra special. ❣️
It’s always a little disheartening when you’re a place away from qualifying from a state contest in FFA, but the best reward is knowing these kids are growing into young leaders who can get up and speak in front of people and they leave better than you found them.
Two weekends of chasing CDE contests across Texas and my vet science kids have been in the top 5 at every contest and won the Texas Tech Invitational. There is truly nothing more rewarding as a teacher than watching their hard work and determination pay off! 💪🏻
Needless to say, my kids may not learn a single thing in my class this year but they dang sure will leave my room better humans if I have anything to do with it. 👏🏻
Today’s funny, or not so funny… I had a group of boys cutting up and I gave them a little stare down and one of them then says “can you stop staring at me with your soul cutting blue eyes, you’re kinda scary when you do that”…. I mean ouch, but I’m glad I’m kinda scary. 😂
One day I’m going to write a book of all the funnies from kids. Today my favorite was when I told them I love football in my about me… “there’s no way you understand the game.” - kid. Actually my dude, I do. Especially when my dad coached TX HS football for 35 years. 🫰🏻

Did not realize I could add my ag truck to my Ford pass app with my personal car and have remote start. Just got it done, and I’ve never been happier to have remote start from the push of a button on my phone. 👏🏻 The little things I tell ya.
There are so many facets of FFA that kids can compete in, and one of our students exhibited the Reserve Grand Champion farm and ranch restoration project at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo! Pretty awesome.

One year ago. One of the most special adventures I’ve ever been on - flying to look at Christmas lights with
@brysonmccarty
♥️ It seems like yesterday and time is such a thief. Miss you every day dude.
From my devotional this morning: “If you make problem solving secondary to the goal of living close to Me, you can find JOY even in your most difficult days.” And those my friends are words to live by. 🙌🏻
You don’t know how out of shape you are, till you start doing manual labor in 100 degree weather at a stock show. Ya girl is fixing to get back into some kind of shape 😂
2023 was a year of saying yes to girls trips, dinners, happy hours and so much more. Even though the season of singleness can be so hard at times, I am so grateful for this season and the adventures this year brought. Here’s to turning 30 this year and a great 2024! ✨🍾🙌🏻🥂🌞
I always love the commentary back on my sarcastic tweets 😂 I almost wish some people knew me in real life, they might always be offended if they knew how sarcastic I was in real life.
Last night we had our first FFA meeting of the year, with over 200 people and SO many parents with their kids. It’s refreshing to see parents who still want to be very involved in their child’s life and not let technology do the raising. 🙌🏻
Mondays are always the best because you get to choose the trajectory of your week. Choose to be kind to people, go out of your way for someone you wouldn’t normally and above all be a blessing to those who cross your path. Happy Monday 🌞
