I mentored in a program for men at risk for incarceration or recidivism. 100% of the participants were Black men. For an eight-week program (1 hr/week), I only successfully recruited one Black man to volunteer, and that was like pulling teeth.

Long story short, apparently Bruce was seeing a Pointer Sister when he was was signed to Motown (also news to me) and did a collab with them. Vesta was a backup singer at the time. He eventually ends up with Vesta, and there you go.

People stay shading CNAs. My CNA/med tech mom is the reason I have a PhD. Her care for the residents and work ethic is incredible. She’s raised eight kids and 6/7 adults attempted college. In May, 4/7 will have completed a bachelor’s. The 8th will start college in the fall.
