Ah yes. I forgot all the laying around I did during virtual teaching. There was definitely not a ton of extra work as we pivoted lessons intended for F2F to 100% virtual, there was no extra leg work to communicate with families and students. 🥰🥰🥰

Dan, teachers’ summer pay is comparable to you working 50 hours but only getting paid for 40…so when you take your “paid vacation,” you can still earn a paycheck for the PTO. Glad we could clear that up, bestie. 🩷 My summer paycheck is MY money that was withheld.

I was out today. When I’m out, I leave a form for my students to do. They love these, and if I tell them ahead of time, they will ask to make sure I leave one! The girls usually give me all the details, but one of my eighth grade boys spilled ALLLLL the tea today 😂

@k8roulette2 It’s not the admin that suffers, it’s the kids. The days are there if you or family are sick, catastrophic disease. I know it’s a bad climate, lack of respect and professionalism and sometimes I feel this way too but the kids are watching. That’s why I’m here

A local Christian school couldn’t pay their teachers for the month of July. They told their teachers, “Sorry, our budget is out.” Mind you, Summer checks are for work already completed. I am appalled.

Y’all. I’m teaching at one daughter’s school. My other daughter is at my feeder school and will be able to take the bus to/from my campus to her campus. Solo parenting is so tough, so having something work out and not pay aftercare is so nice.

My brand new little baby robotics team qualified for World Championships in Dallas, TX next month. The coach who didn’t have a clue what she was doing in august is taking a bunch of teens to Dallas with their robots! I’m so proud of them. 😭😭😭😭
