The woodstove. Nan baked, cooked, dried socks/hats/mitts, etc. For myself, my sister and cousin it was also a means of delivering letters to Santa. Toss em in the fire and Santa magically got them intact. Newfoundland thing? Bay thing? Crazy family thing? Lol

Today is a good day. Sons Covid test came back negative. Followed the rules but still had been exposed. Wear a mask, keep contacts low, wash your hands and follow the rules. Better to not need the test than the stress of waiting for the results.

Started at 6am this morning. Four hours in and looking good so far. Biggest slab of brisket attempted to date. That's what happens when you send your carnivore son to pick up the meat. Going for a 12 - 14 hr low and slow cook/smoke time.
