Watching Japan take the lead on Ireland with 20 mins left. Thrilling. Generally could care less about rugby but this is the kind of great World Cup match for a casual sports fan from a non traditional rugby country to get into, something sadly missing from Cricket World Cup.

The @ICC made the decision yesterday on who made it to the women’s World Cup and who is in the new women’s ODI league. Rather then attacking the teams that made it, which isn’t the teams decisions. The ICC could just expand the competitions instead. It’s a simple solution.

The people coming out saying what a great World Cup this was, all have a vested interest to do so. We were told it was going to “inspire a generation”, has it done that? There has been no excitement. It’s been a corporate, bland World Cup. It will always be know as such.
