Want to see the
#Bills
play a home playoff game? Wear a mask.
Want to go visit Toronto or get to your cottage in Ontario? Wear a mask.
Want to go on vacation outside the US? Wear a mask.
Want to sell your tickets to a Maple Leafs game in Buffalo? Wear a mask.
I can go on.
Just finished chat with
#Bills
WR Robert Foster.
He’s spent much of winter training at team facility.
He plans to travel to California tomorrow to work out with Josh Allen.
If Peterman can complete a touchdown pass in a blizzard, I'm sure Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen will be fine people.
The over-reaction over a 40% chance of snow on Saturday is getting to be waaaaaay too much.
One loss and suddenly some folks already tumbling off the bandwagon, blaming Beane, the D-like, Davis, and suggesting this was a team Joe Schoen built.
Woah. Slow down.
Take a few steps back from the ledge, people.
Not sure about tiebreakers, but
#Sabres
only need to win at least 13 of their final 15 games, and maybe sneak out a point in one of the other two, and have Washington lose all its remaining games in regulation, to end their playoff drought.
Forgot to mention this earlier.
Kudos to Josh Allen for making his weekly appearance with the local media, while dealing with the loss of his grandfather.
He did so by providing thoughtful answers and without showing any signs of how much that loss was weighing on him.
I see Cole Beasley is trending now that he’s back on social media and suggesting things “changed within the (Bills) organization.”
Convenient that he fails to explain he was more than willing to put himself first, ahead of the team, last year as maybe a reason things changed.
I’ve said this to people several times over the summer.
It’s too bad the Eichel-Sabres relationship grew so toxic because the irony is, this is the team, in a perfect world, he’d enjoy playing for.
Never realized it was this bad:
Eichel ($10M cap hit): 2 goals (11 points)
Skinner ($9M): 0 goals (1 point)
Hall ($8M): 1 goal, (9 points)
Okposo ($6M): 0 goals (0 points)
Reinhart ($5.2M): 3 goals (7 points)
$38.2 million has so far bought 6 goals and 28 points.
#Sabres
The real takeaway from the Eichel trade is how the
#Sabres
have finally place an emphasis on team and culture building as opposed to making big, splashy moves for the sake of making them.
Building a team takes time and patience. And it appears this franchise is finally there.
For a team that doesn’t want to address actual questions on Zoom calls with reporters,
#Bills
players certainly have a lot to say on social media. And then take umbrage when challenged.
My sense with the
#Bills
is they continue feel a sense of entitlement in thinking teams will bend to their will and all the hard work they put in last year has been forgotten.
They get frustrated too easily, especially when things don’t go their way. …
So, you’re suggesting the NFL will force the Pegulas to move the franchise outside their home base and all the roots they’ve set down here.
Somehow, I find this a little far-fetched and whittled down to a scare-tactic take with little substance in logic or reality.
The drums are getting louder, Buffalo. And the message from the league is clear: Pay for all or part of a new stadium, or else the Bills eventually will move.
Moving the chances of
#Bills
acquiring Antonio Brown to the less than likely bin.
And can firmly report that nothing is considered "imminent."
Told Buffalo did contact Steelers regarding Brown as part of doing their due diligence.
How far it got beyond that is uncertain.
With the Sabres holding internal discussions Thursday and likely through the weekend on their Pride Night plans on Monday, here are captain Kyle Okposo’s thoughts:
The one shot I'll not forget, is someone, not a player, on the Bills sideline smiling while talking excitedly to someone with the Bills up by 3 and 13 seconds left, and Josh Allen staring intently, focused, expressionless, on the bench.
#Ravens
John Harbaugh in reference to former Eagles coaching colleague,
#Bills
Sean McDermott:
(Laughing) "He married way out of his league, I know that. That's another big plus for him."
So,
#Jaguars
coach Doug Marrone was going on and on and on about how he enjoyed Buffalo, and the fans and the community and the owners, specifically mentioning Ralph and the Pegulas, and so on ...
So I asked: “Why’d you leave?”
Dylan Cozens is leading the way.
Just gets into his first NHL fight and more than holds his own.
He’s had an impressive game and adds to it by showing plenty of sand.
He should never be a healthy scratch again.
Most life shown by a Sabres player in quite some time.
And with that, Brian Daboll, is very much likely staying with the
#Bills
for one more year.
Chargers job interested him. There is some surprise the team went in another direction.
Now he can focus all his attention on AFC Championship game.
#Avalanche
D Ian Cole to The AP on women's hockey players pledging to sit out next season.
"It's great. They're the best in the world at what they do. They should be compensated accordingly. ....
I keep seeing this thing about the
#Bills
inability to play catch up when falling behind.
Well, that was true under Tyrod Taylor.
Josh Allen, on the other hand, is credited with engineering 2 4th-Q comebacks and 3 game-winning drives.
For all those ignoring the
#Sabres
, have to say something looks interestingly promising with what’s being built here.
They’re going to miss the playoffs for an NHL-record 11th straight season, but there’s real promise emerging.
A there, there.
For those keeping track,
#Sabres
13-game winless skid now stands as the NHL’s longest since ......
the
#Sabres
lost 14 in a row midway through the 2014-15 season.
¶ ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) _ A person with direct knowledge of the decision tells The Associated Press that Buffalo Bills and Sabres president Russ Brandon is leaving his post in a major shake-up made by the teams' owners, Terry and Kim Pegula.
Once again, and on paper, I'm impressed by the unflinching way in which McDermott and Beane have rebuilt the
#Bills
in two short years.
It's gone from a roster filled with over-priced, under-achieving talent, and an unmatched mix of players from past regimes ...
The strange thing is the
#Bills
are 5-1 and, wait for this because it’s a delicate issue in some parts, the team maintains a ping-pong table in the locker room.
Interesting to note that
#Bills
wouldn’t be caught in
#Broncos
type QB situation.
Buffalo has elected to separate Jake Fromm from the QB group in the event of such a COVID-19 outbreak in the room.
Great idea posed by someone smarter than me.
NFL should allow teams playing in mean-nothing Week 17 games roster exemptions to allow practice squaders to play.
This way, coaches can get a chance to see these guys in game action, with playoff-bound teams able to rest some players.
From a football person I truly respect and have always enjoyed dealing with, in regards to Josh Allen and this “low positive” thing:
“I don’t know who is in his head, but they’ve got to leave.”
Have stayed away from the Bills Stadium story today because have not been able to independently verify a lot of stuff that’s out there.
And won’t until I do.
Some things just don’t add up, including an “ownership” source (ownership of whom?) simply throwing out “Austin.”
Just spoke to an astute business person with no skin in the game, who focused
#Bills
stadium talks down to this:
Buffalo/NY needs to determine if it wants to be an NFL city. In order to continue doing so, there’s a cost that comes with it.
MSG/Sabres have to do a much better job with those bracketed ads that suddenly pop up on the screen.
Makes for glitchy viewing and takes your eye completely off the game as the screen adjusts and then re-adjusts.
Beasley, privately, has a case in suggesting the NFL is wrong for only testing vaxxed players/staff once every 14 days, in that there is no knowing how long the
#Bills
trainer in question was positive. …
FWIW: Here's where I saw things change with Stefon Diggs last year. It was just after he was named captain, and held an impromptu scrum outside the locker. ...
OK, incremental
#Sabres
news not involving Jack Eichel:
No. 1 draft pick Owen Power has gone from "leaning" toward returning to Michigan for his sophomore season to "most likely" returning to school this fall.
What an interesting dynamic.
Just listened in on Don Granato’s news conference.
Sounds like the
#Sabres
lost.
Funny thing is, they won.
Been a long time a Sabres coach has sounded disappointed after a win.
Good sign.
@sportswcoleman
@Sanford117
@DelReid
Apparently you don’t realize all the good things
@DelReid
does for the Buffalo community, which makes him a winner already.
That you disparage him makes you look schmucky, gerry.
But that’s been evident for a while now.
Okay,
#Ravens
fans... It's finally playoff time. What a night it will be! I have Baltimore winning but not big. 26-17 over the Titans. Going to be tough to contain Derrick Henry. Will be some nervous moments but Lamar and company advance. What say you!?

evidently, he can dish it out, but can't take it. and instead goes behind the scenes and tattles on people.
no one likes a tattle-tale, jerry.
For those dismissing all the pro women’s hockey stories I’ve been working of late, all I have to say is you don’t have to read them.
I’m proud of working for a news company that recognizes important stories that need to be told, and part of a talented AP team producing them.
