1/10
A lot of people are doing art challenges in October. But doing a daily painting is a little bit to much atm. Instead I'm going to do one every 3rd day!
The theme is going to be very simple. We are just going to follow this guy, with his weird sheeps, on his journey!

I had the lovely chance to paint Ba Sing Se for
@StreetsOfZine
Avatar VS: Earth edition!
It’s been a while since I drew a large cityscape and this was the most perfect excuse to do so! :)
@somartist
You're a big inspiration! Thank you for the artshare
Here's a recent painting, still in a rough state, I really got to find some time again to properly finish personal art
To all the people who followed, liked and shared my art the past 36 hours, thank you!! The support means a lot! 🙏
Here's a litte WIP of a current personal painting I've been working on. A classic large happy fantasy landscape!
A very oldie but goldie. I painted this autumn 2018, and it was a bit of a breakthrough for me. I used to paint a lot darker, but making this made me realise I love to draw bright and happy as well!
An older animation. For this piece I was experimenting with combining different programs and techniques.
I would love to make a short film one day in this style!
Here is a slightly more dramatic painting from a while ago!
There was not a lot thought behind this one, I felt moody and I really enjoy drawing semi-transparent water :)
Shepherds's Journey 9/10
Before our shepherd reaches his destination, he first has to face one more stormy mountain range!
A slightly more dramatic painting as the penultimate entry
During January 2022 I did a personal art challenge. Everyday, 31 days long, I did a daily painting. Creating illustrations and concepts for my own personal worldbuilding project.
Here are a few of them!
"Asking the old florist for help"
Like many fantasy artist I also have my own personal worldbuilding project going on. This painting shows a small cozy corner of it :)
Besides painting them, I love to animate landscape scenes! Here is my small animated tribute to Spirited Away.
I only started watching the Ghibli films in the last couple of years. But they had a profound impact on my art style.
I'm joining
#PleinAirpril
this year!
Here's day 1 and 2, Lake Wakatipu in New Zealand and Petten in the Netherlands.
I feel super rusty doing landscape studies, so I'm curious how this challenge will go 😅
2 years ago I did a 50 day drawing challenge. This was number 47!
I still love the mood of this piece, and would like to paint so much more using this setting and vibe!
I screen recorded the process of my latest painting, and turned it into a classic time-lapse video on YouTube!
So if you have a couple of minutes and are interested in my approach to making Ghibli-inspired landscapes have a watch! :)
Shepherd's Journey 6/10
For entry 6 I collaborated with my good friend Saverio. He did his own challenge in October called Masktobre, and he drew the statue in this illustration!
For those interested:
Hey! I'm Saverio Wielkens, or 'saverieau' a character designer from the Netherlands :)
This is my first post here on X!
I wanted to share this piece from a new project called ‘Scraps & Scratches’ a story about this girl and her robot. We’ll have to see how the story goes 👀
- Photoshop: painting the background and animating the grass/character
- After effects: Compositing and the animating the clouds
- Blender: Modelling, rigging and animating the birds
@MoeWanders
Yess! 1fps or 2fps works really well for timelapses! You can also open up you're PSD in a 'second window' and keep that on another monitor and only record that bit. - That way you can zoom in and out without worrying that the viewer will get motion sick 😅
@MoeWanders
I would love a time lapse feature in Photoshop as well! If you're going to use a screen-recording software, I would recommend checking if you can record lower at framerates, like one 1 frame per second, that way the files stay small! :)
@Keenan_Fitz
Thank you! I might start selling these as a small series of prints, and publish a free digital artbook after I finish the series! Though I haven't really thought to much about it yet.
@PBSport
Thank you!! I painted only daily for 31 days that year 😅. So I sadly don't have a lot more isometric drawings... still, I got plenty of fantasy art I the vault!
@PBSport
Thank you for the warm welcome! Really nice to hear, I loved working on the boat. I'm also working on the inside of the boat, hope to share that soon :)
