I just heard that Lauren Berlant has died and it has me feeling fully gutted. They were so kind to me, and also helpful, when I was going through the hardest cancer times last year, even though what they were going through was so much worse. It was a gift, & I am grateful for it.

So... I've got stomach cancer & that sucks. I'm going to be OK, & I'm grateful for that, grateful also for good friends, a supportive work environment, & health insurance. Also, my sister bought me a plush stomach--a perfect gift, really. Maybe I should just have it transplanted?

I'm 55 years old & still paying off student loans. For years they made my financial life unlivable. I refinanced them at 2% in the early aughts, which helped a lot but means I don't qualify for loan forgiveness. I AM IN FAVOR OF FORGIVENESS FOR OTHERS even if it won't benefit me.

yoga practice, i just stood up from seated on floor to standing without an arm assist (or knee, or both, or pulling desperately on some furniture, or all of that) for the first time in like 2 years (lost lots of my strength during the cancer treatment). today's surprise gift.
