I was also extremely disappointed when I tried to read it a few years ago. It’s described as a provocative explanation for the flourishing and decay of societies, but within the first few pages the author was genuflecting to the sacred cows of liberalism. Didn’t bother finishing.
@PrettyBadLefty
For sure re: speed (k=mv^2!). But I thought the main consideration in hood design was to crumple and protect the passengers, as Martin says
@jialaowai
@PrettyBadLefty
Cars are designed to crumple so the force gets transmitted to the body of the car and not the passengers inside it.
Cars are mad to be highly destructible to save the passengers lives.
@joncoopertweets
How ironic that a “anti-disinfo activist” is posting a clip that omits the context and makes Barr’s sarcastic remarks appear genuine. Guess it’s only disinfo when other people do it!

Teacher: “If your foreign friend came to play, what would you offer him to drink?”
First boy: “I’d offer him bottled water.”
Second boy: “If he’s Russian, I’d give him Red Bull.”
Third girl: “If he’s Japanese, I’d give him pesticide.”
@iansmithfitness
The simple answer is because history is written by the victors. We relied on communist Russia to defeat Nazi Germany & fascist Italy, hence demonized the ideologies of the latter. By contrast, we’ve thus far managed to avoid a hot war with communist Russia and China.
@EdbieLigerSmith
Lol at "fighting for Bill Gates". You're right, we should be fighting for the white working class: people who, already poor, are being deprived of that most basic necessity, PRIDE, by people like Gates who insist that their culture is worthless and their skin color a sin.
@ProfPaulPoast
It’s a good analysis, but even if dropping the first bomb sped up the ending of the war, was it justified to immediately drop a SECOND one? I don’t think so

Probably something like, "This could be an interesting combo, let's see if it works. Hope the snarky fashion bloggers aren't on the hunt today"

@RepThomasMassie
100% correct. All the people yelling “RINO” are incredibly short-sighted to advocate for dumping constitutional governance because “they did it too”. Stand for something greater than punishing political opponents. Don’t stoop to their level.
@BretDevereaux
Brett, you realize that calling 7 centuries "almost 1000 years" is completely normal in any context, with the possible sole exception of academia, right?

First they blew up their own oil pipeline, now their own dam! Those tricksy Russians. Luckily we can see through their tricks with our freedom glasses.

Tucker: Would you send the military to the southern border to stop millions of fentanyl overdoses?
Asa Hutchinson: Well akshually, it’s more important that we station soldiers in the Philippines to send a signal to China not to take over Taiwan.

One thing that’s exciting about this is seeing all the familiar faces joining this Space to listen. In a way, Twitter is becoming a replacement for the institutions like churches and social clubs that used to bring people together to listen to ideas.
If this video purportedly of RFK JR is authentic, then he must have our support. No one lifting shirtless in sun with jeans, tuned up on TRT, would ever betray this great country.

Hero. People need to grow up about him voting against the Schiff sanctions — as he explained quite clearly, he sees them as unconstitutional, and won’t abuse his power to punish a political opponent, no matter how vile. 2 wrongs ≠ right.
@MarioNawfal
Yes. And Elon please don’t get paranoid and start blocking Facebook links. You did that with Substack when they released Notes which nobody really ended up using anyway

Brilliant video. This man gets it.
Jews need to wake up and realize that people like this are the only way to guarantee “never again”. Jonathan Greenblatt and his ilk cannot be allowed to represent us.

Not a pivot. US has never supported Taiwan’s outright independence, instead pursing “strategic ambiguity”. Presidents occasionally seem to forget this and say something to the country but they always walk it back, as Blinken did in 2022.

This is an insane story. It makes clear that the DEI industry is literally a cult where “your job in this work, as white people, is to believe.” Anyone who dares question this “reinforces harm to Black students and families” and is treated as the enemy. Disgusting and evil.
@AvdullahYousef
Agreed. It’s not a blackpill any more than Sophocles’ or Shakespeare’s tragedies are, which depict great men who are led astray by a fatal flaw — one which epitomizes a corruption endemic of their societal milieu. They warn us against becoming trapped in the mindset of an Oedipus

The effect for 🇺🇸 is embarrassing. Blinken and his delegation sitting on one side, Qin and his on the other, all listening to Xi mouthing diplomatic bromides, like attentive subordinates being instructed by their CEO at a company board meeting.
