this group promotes artworks depicting bats as the root cause of the pandemic,
so i tried submitting a post about how bats are not to be blamed for the crisis
well, it wasn't approved
guhit pinas (admin) sucks,

Bakit dating tinawag na "Biologically dead" kung pwede namang Rest in Fish?

Pasig River is not dead.
The ecosystem itself is undeniably struggling for a lot of reasons we should not turn a blind eye to, but there are such things as Ecological restoration/rehabilitation
i never sell my artworks because my anxious, insecure ass have never thought that they're worth selling
so i'm pouring my special thanks to ate carmel who insisted to buy some of my recent works even tho i'm not selling it ๐ ๐๐๐ ๐
nung first year ko sa PUP nahuli kami ng guard na naglalaro ng uno, kinumpiska ID namin tapos sabihin daw namin sa class president, sumulat ng letter para marelease...
bro..
ako 'yung class president
One of my favorite endemic tree, Tristaniopsis decorticata (Malabayabas).
I took these photos in Atimonan, Quezon where one of the few remaining natural stands of Malabayabas exist inside a protected landscape.
Just look at that insanely beautiful color โฅ๏ธ
Hindi illegal manghuli at kumain ng parrotfish dito. Mahalagang bahagi ng huli ng mga mangingisda ang parrotfish. 'Wag kayong magalit sa mga mangingisdang nakakahuli at nagbebenta nito. Tnx p0
this sem i got an uno
but that's no ordinary uno
this sem, i was disowned, ran away from home during a pandemic, and while all bruised up, finally stood up against my abuser
hindi pa tapos ang laban!
not so gentle reminder that the invasive janitor fish erode our river banks, displace and prey on the eggs of native fish species decreasing fish catch and eventually causing massive economic losses
-because it was "accidentally" released to our freshwater river system
DENR is an instrument of San Miguel Corporation to easily greenwash their projects like the coal-powered plant in Pagbilao, Quezon. This plant eyes on piping water from Palsabangon River which is associated with Pagbilao Mangrove Swamp Forest Reserve-

Tf is this? They collected our video call screenshots from some of my friends' galleries. Pati miryenda ko nadamay. Pero seriously, check out "sharing" under "shopeePH" folder.
It's also probably best to finally uninstall the app for good.
Democratic governments normally rely on science. Clearly, Duterte Administration in general, tend to ignore this concept and instead try to suppress these "inconvenient truth" that Science generates. Science is political and we should call for a government who listens to Science.
DENR Spox Benny Antiporda slams UP experts suggesting to plant mangroves: wala po kayong karapatang magcriticize; bayaran kayo! (claims UP has been collecting billions of pesos for consultation)
@gmanews
amazed how this Leucistic(?) Dicroglossid (Fejervarya sp.) survived long enough in the wild
they rarely make it to adulthood due to their inability to use camouflage against predators

please do come to the College of Science Research Colloquium this August 7th, PUP Manila, i am to present our research about the mangrove forest and share some basic important and apparently, neglected knowledge about our "bakauan"
probably hard to believe for some pero nakaka-survive ako nang trenta pesos a day sa piyupi

Crazy day!
At least 5km trail at Mt. Makiling.
Halfway on a transect, this highly venomous Philippine Pit Viper (Trimeresurus flavomaculatus) appeared. I had to catch it and release it somewhere far to lessen the risk of my classmates getting bitten. FREAKIN AWSOME!!!
me in the field: certain crab species can exert over 40,000 pounds per square inch of pressure with their powerful pinchers, be careful handling them

The mangroves of Danao-danao in Carles, Iloilo sustained some damages from strong typhoons during last year's monsoon season. These remaining patches of natural mangrove forest in Gigantes Sur protect small coastal communities in the area.

Some of the fisherfolks in the Gigantes Island group relies largely on Scallops for income. These bivalves are so abundant in the area, some of their beaches are covered in scallop shells! Scallops are locally processed and it's usually the meat that is shipped to the mainland.
after day and night collections, it's cleaning, identifying, sorting, photographing, taking DNA samples, cataloging, fixing and describing natural history observations for each specimen at past 1am

so i actually ended up doing a study about it with sir & ma'am Diesmos & UST colleagues
the results suggest that cane toads DO NOT predate on mosquitoes
we are willing to share the report to anyone interested
do send me a message!
someone should study about the diet analysis of those cane toads released in QC (for thesis maybe) to prove wether they are effective biocontrol against mosquitoes
unfortunately, i can't since i have similar pending SP's (but am willing to collaborate)
Once, during a night survey, I flipped a rock and my life flashed before my eyes.
Redback Spiders are highly venomous and we should treat them with respect. I've never seen one documented with a pattern like this here in the Philippines.
Gigantes, Iloilo.
i used to draw exhibit specimens from the National Museum of Natural History during my free time at work there

By 2021, I still want to practice my chosen professions: educator and scientist.
Two years apart, and I never thought I could be extremely passionate and tired at the same time.

i'm really sorry for posting about this for several times, i just felt really fulfilled; just when i felt like giving up.
i'm still fighting for peace; for my peace.
i hope we all win

On a local level, Old Balara, Quezon City have been releasing cane toads in their area since 2016.
The most recent was in July 23 where the LGU released around 500 toads as part of their anti-dengue drive.
The problem is-
(1/n)
Have ecological perspectives ever been considered in our government's policy decisions on anti-dengue? Example would be biological top-down control measures such as protecting predator populations that feed on mosquitoes, like dragonflies, frogs, birds, and guppies (mosq. eggs).
