My Miami research Moby Dick is this apartment building in Little Havana at 559 SW 3rd Street -- it's made of coral and was built in 1911. There probably aren't too many buildings this old in the city yet I run into dead ends trying to find out its history.

I’m hopeful but it’s become clear Surfside will be the most significant loss of life in Miami-Dade history since the 1935 Labor Day hurricane. A nearly once-in-a-century tragedy. People seem to be moving on without processing that this will change us forever.
