Sir Sidney Poitier has died.
He was 94.
Poitier was the first Black man to win the Academy Award for Best Actor.
He was also the first Bahamian actor to do so.
When Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, departed The Bahamas with her husband, the Duke of Cambridge, on Saturday night, she departed as more than just a member of the British royal family.
She departed as an honorary “island gal”.

The Bahamas has been battling the COVID-19 pandemic for roughly seven months. Many healthcare workers, law enforcement officers and other frontline workers have risked their lives to ensure the safety of our country during this time.
