Ryanair used to only be known for cheap seats and service to match.
Now theyโre known for that but will also be largely followed by admiration for their โidgafโ social presence, which has likely been key from a branding AND sales stance.
GGs Michael.
I saw on twitter someone calling out to โcheck your dimensionsโ

easy mistakes brands make
- not using UGC in ads
- sending all traffic to the home page
- focusing on FB ROAS rather than MER
- not having email flows running
- forgetting to sell the outcome
- missing opportunities for upsells
what else? ๐๐ผ

Wouldnโt have been possible without Twitter and the connections Iโve been lucky enough to make here.
You blessings know who you are.
Big day for the parish.
"creatives fatigue fast"
wrong.
the first 3 seconds of your creative fatigue fast.
most people don't watch past that.
change out the first 3 seconds with new visuals/hook.
now you have a "new" ad.
badda-bing badda-boom.
no amount of paid ads can make up for a bad rest of funnel

Spoke with a small brand owner yday and she was expecting a pitch on fb ads.
After working with 7+ agencies I was the first person to say that the email marketing needs to be stronger and their conversion rate (0.5%) is too low for their AOV (ยฃ30).
Not sure how I was the first
I know twitter isn't really a place for showing off results, but we've just hit $700k in the last 30 days for a client who came on at $50k/m revenue
it feels like no time ago I brought on a client for $200 a month
progress feels good - we keep pushing for bigger and better!
hot take: 0.0 drinks exist largely as a marketing loop-hole so alcoholic brands can advertise during sports programmes (where you can't advertise alcohol)
4 days ago, one of our BIGGEST clients surprised us by dropping us for another agency...
...just now, they have returned to ask if we'd take them back on.
boy oh boy, it sure would be a shame if someone's retainer was about to go UP
โ๏ธ๐ธ
Just off a prospecting call - their current agency:
๐ฉ charges 17% of spend
๐ฉ own the brands ad acc & pixel
๐ฉ only manage ads (no creative feedback, reporting etc.)
๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ wanted to charge $5k more to manage $15k more spend
If this sounds like you, you are getting screwed.

4 campaigns
13 ad sets
Yet I've looked at accounts spending $10k p/m with 20 campaigns and 50 ad sets.

3% flows

7 days of posting regularly:
- 1 new biz opp
- 2 new leads
- 150k+ impressions
- 140+ new followers
- 2 "lets grab a coffee"
- 4+ friends reconnected
- 1 previous lead to sign on
- 1 tweet reposted on linkedin

And that, is what you call instant good karma.
so thatโs 37 questions on the first call - been through 7 agencies in the past year - asking for an hour meeting every week - wants to speak with 3 current clients, and wants a month free trial. Yup, thatโs Nightmare Client.

๐Good:
- 0 client churn

- 6 referrals
- first ecom speaking event
- engaging more with twitter w/ good results
- setting up agency partners for client benefit
๐Bad:
- brand we love
Just hit a record high sales day for a new client that spends multi-6 figures a month on FB ads.
Even beating BFCM.
We've only been running their ads for 48 hours.
Good start to 2021 ๐
150M+ followers & a team of 45+ | Story-time
in 2016 we started with a team of 6 in an office where the door was barely on
my business partner and I both ran large twitter accounts with a combined network of 10M+ followers
making money running ads & trading posts
we realised
Our biggest client just let us go by removing access with 0 notice. In house.
60% growth in 4 months on $200-300k spend/month.
Put so much into it. Feels rough. Kick in the teeth.
If anyone needs a cracked team that will do everything to grow your brand.

overall goal is to have a holding company for the agency
agency grows as it's own beast
then start our own brands using agency resources
agency benefits from exp running own brand
plus no tax to be paid on asset transfers between holding co companies
growth of brand
4 years ago, I worked with a small business.
In 5 weeks, I grew their IG from 11k to 14k.
I handled ads, content, social media management, and more.
After 6 weeks, they said I charge too much and stopped.
I charged $500.
I will never forget that disrespect.
why a lot of people quit is because theyve been sold this idea of what its like to run a business by youtubers selling courses
Lambos, watches, ridiculous "day in the life's"
where most of the time its just sitting down and doing the boring stuff over and over again
I still get PTSD from a new brand we were working with who had 0 sales but insisted everything marketing had to be โon brandโ and โprotect the brandโ.
You have no brand. You have nothing to protect.
Only things to test and lessons to learn.
Youโre handcuffing yourself.
I wonder if weโll see a turning point where people become unresponsive to well put together UGC and start to respond to super amateur UGC because itโs more authenticโฆ
A relic of the good ol' twitter days
We grew this brilliant team from 6 to 45 in 15 months
Managed over 200M worth of followers
Did so ONLY through text messages with my business partner. 0 calls.
This was the new office we refurbed.
Look at all those tweetdecks ๐

never know what fire that will light inside them
bringing on a client that was successful on Shark Tank which means we'll be on a call with a Shark in the next couple of weeks lets go!
when I first started out I would watch Shark Tank and Dragons Den religiously so this is an awesome thought
That's it. Deal done.
Just signed probably our biggest client to date. Super excited.
Multiple paid media channels + email marketing + funnel optimisation + more.
Will be taking these guys to 8 figures in 2021.
LETS GOOOOO!!!
MERRY FECKING CHRISTMAS.
Looking back on a lot of the people I used to compare myself to on here...๐ฉ
I remember 2014-2016 people posting screenshots of bank accounts and thinking "fuck why arent I doing that?"
"how am I not making that money?"
and people posting cars, watches, cartier etc
then
Goals for 2024:
- grow agency 70%
- 10,000 followers on X
- run a marathon
- do a mountain run
- buy a house
- 5 in-person ecomm events
- create 10+ pieces of long-form video content
I either look back on this with pride or disappointment.
Time to get to work.

Dear Mr

If you buy twitter can you please unsuspend all my accounts and give them back to me so I can sell ad spots again
will give you a great discount - $15/100k

Helped a small brand (under $5k/m rev) set up their FB ads a few months ago for no charge.
Even made creatives and loaded them in with copy.
They just needed to review and turn on.
Checked back in.
Never even turned them on.
