I have serious questions: So if the vaccine is no longer an exit strategy, how do we exit? What does success look like now? Have the past two years of extremely heavy handed government policy been a failure? How far and how long are people prepared to go with civil liberties?
“Welcome to Toronto Pearson. Sorry about the hour it took to deplane and the three hour customs line. If you don’t mind, can you please step over to this 2 hour ‘you are triple vaxxed, twice infected and are clearly not displaying any Covid symptoms but we will test you” lineup?”
I'm half a world away covering a very serious Olympics, and covering Canada here, and I'm still absolutely aghast at what's happening at home. The new interim leader of the Conservatives was one of the people who went out to meet the occupying convoy.
Something I found out tonight: Incarcerated criminals will get vaccinated before incarcerated seniors at nursing and retirement homes. And some Trudeau supporters are ok with that.
After doing a photo with his new cabinet fully masked, Trudeau travels (something he advised Canadians not to do just days ago) to the Netherlands and takes advantage of their lack of restrictions. Cool cool.
Happy to make my friend of 22 years, always welcome basement apartment crasher and wing man
@PierrePoilievre
my first choice. With the state we are in, Pierre is the principled conservative leader both the party and Canada needs now. We don’t need another debate to figure it out.
With all due respect to many I like, a lot of Canadian media are made up of social activists who are anti-conservative looking for that smear job gold to bring someone down. Good for
@patrickbrownont
for fighting back and winning in the end.
I have been friends with Pierre Poilievre since 1997 when were just kids fighting in the trenches on various campaigns for Conservatives. I’m incredibly proud that he will be the 24th Prime Minister of Canada.
Anyone who has been around the O’Toole family knows that these tweets of partnership, love, and humour are genuine. There is no political message here other than it being a family worth getting to know better.
@EvanLSolomon
Make no mistake Trudeau attacked our standard of living/prosperity today. We have been blessed as a nation with a natural resource the world needs. It has allowed us to be a wealthy nation that can provide, among other things, health care for all. What future we building here?
Running on being the strict vaccine passport/restrictions guy and then run an event like this to thumb your nose at everyone else. What a weird campaign.
I make no judgments about people wearing a mask among fully vaxxed people as I support their freedom for their comfort level. But below is pure theatre. Should the public accept being treated like dummies? Are we ok with this?
Today I learned “blame goes back to the Mulroney era” is an official talking point the Liberal party is sending to operatives on social media in response to CNN. The message is bizarre but in the 30 years since Mulroney has been PM, the Liberals have ruled 20 of those years.
Costco has a margin of about 2.5%. The problem is not the retailers, it’s the tax and the supply disruptions from Covid due to ineffective restrictions lockdowns. If the government wants to go to war with retailers like it went to war with Facebook, good luck to them.
Max was in the debates last time and couldn’t win his seat. They didn’t have a leadership review or any leadership process because it’s not a real party. The PPC’s only purpose is to pay Max a $104,000 salary with no accountability and keep Trudeau as PM.
Libs and some media trotting this out and I’m sure she’s embarrassed but this makes her more likeable and relatable to any person who has once decided to have a glass of wine and let off steam after a tough day. People trying to make this an issue should try it one day.
You can stand against the legacy of John A. Macdonald while for just $1,600, you can join the prestigious “Laurier Club” of the Liberal Party. Named for the PM who opposed Macdonald on extending voting rights to women and Indigenous peoples and the architect of a Chinese head tax
This kind of batshittery is very common with the US *Christian* right. Google Trump and Jesus sometime.
Haven’t seen a US import this unwelcome since the OT shootout.
I knocked on some of my first doors with Tom Osborne.
He taught me that it’s all about serving your constituents, and serving them well.
He is a phenomenal campaigner and an even better MHA.
So
@PierrePoilievre
isn’t surging just because of dissatisfaction with the Liberals. He’s resonating because he’s talking about things that people still think are important even if they don’t normally say it. Freedom is a Canadian value that we now know government can take away.
Although we don’t always align politically, I was happy to support my friend
@JoshMatlow
in the face of the ugly anti-semitism he faced tonight from the “free Palestine” protest. Oh yes, they booed someone who walked by for wearing a kippah. This is real and ugly.
It’s strange living in a country where the government designates Canadian truckers as terrorists for opposing mandates, but says nothing about people who are currently celebrating some of the most brutal forms of terrorism in recent memory.
I feel like when both the Premier of Alberta and the Premier of Quebec are on the same page about who should be the next Prime Minister it should be a really big deal.
Great plan by
@erinotoole
. We will finally put Chinese goods made on the cheap and without any environmental standards on the same level as Canadian manufacturing. This is a plan that balances the environment and economy that Canadians are looking for.
If you are not watching the convention we just learned that so far
@erinotoole
and his team has raised records amounts of money for the Conservative Party. This is thanks to small grassroots contributions.

Former Premier Mike Harris: “Erin O’Toole has proven he can deliver a message. He is an excellent campaigner…The best thing the Conservative Party can do is …unite behind a proven campaigner who can and should be our next prime minister.”
Reflect on your own role “in this settler colonial system” and resign. We shouldn’t have to put up with or tolerate this type of nonsense anymore in our rotten institutions.
I'm reflecting on my role as a politician who is participating in this settler colonial system, and I ask that all politicians do the same.

#BREAKING
: Liberal Raj Saini announces he is no longer running in the federal election - “For everyone’s health and safety I have taken the painful decision to end my campaign for the 44th Parliament.”

People of a younger generation may not know the importance of Reagan, Thatcher, Kohl and Mulroney. They defeated communism and brought in a golden age of conservatism while working together with the IDU to promote conservative thought around the world.
When Irish Eyes are Smiling is the song one associates most with Mulroney and his legacy.
Here’s the PM singing it with Ronald
Reagan in Quebec City during the Shamrock Summit, 39 years ago this week
Feed full of Liberal partisans complaining about a debate process they controlled and implemented. If Trudeau didn’t completely melt down like he did last night, the process would have been just fine for them. O’Toole didn’t complain about the rules and just performed like a PM.
Politics is often dumb, and dishonest, and loaded to the brim with loathsome social climbers and white-collar criminals.
But it can also be hilarious, and that counts for something.
“Daddy has the fewest things in his stocking!”
Why do you think that is, I reply?
“It’s because of all the swearing you do on the phone, especially during the election. He can hear that and it’s used against you on Christmas.”
Indeed.
Merry Christmas!
Wow 85.1% of adults in Ontario have at least one shot. Credit to
@fordnation
and to the people of Ontario. That has to be highest in NA? There will be a percentage of people who can’t get vaccinated for medical or other reasons and that needs to respected and balanced. Good job.
I’m very uncomfortable with this unless we are consistent. What about illegal/party drug users? Smokers? Alcoholics? Speeders? BMI? Personal responsibility all around for health care let’s go.
@mohamadfakih8
The only one dividing people is you. You are now questioning western democracies and taking the side of an enemy government by asking for “evidence” that you know has already been provided widely. I was hoping for leadership from you to help get your community on side, but nope.
Imagine this type of sign used at the Freedom Convoy rally? Would probably lead every front page and newscast in the country. For this, no one will even mention it.
He basically said Rota is resigning which is inevitable at this point. But Trudeau, once again, missed an opportunity to apologize to the world. It’s only the biggest story on the planet right now and seems to be growing legs. Just apologize and get it over with.
Biden is going to win partly because Trump blew Arizona. John McCain and his family will get the last laugh. It’s was a fight that Trump shouldn’t have ever started.
“I’m not going to get into the details of any one case”.
The details involve a woman so distressed she tried to take her own life in the MP’s office. Doesn’t that warrant some kind of getting in to? Maybe some acknowledgment to the victim?
Based on some recent conversations it always needs to be reminded: Do not make any conclusions from poll results from two weeks ago and do not make any conclusions from poll results from two hours ago. The only poll that matters is on Election Day.
BC ending their mask mandate on July 1st and not a concerned peep from the concerned media. Imagine if it was Ford or Kenney? Can they do this because it’s an NDP government?
Decolonization on the grounds of our legislature on Treaty 1 Territory, the homeland of the Métis.

They interfered with our election and kidnapped two (not one) citizens to be used as bargaining chips between two great powers. We just going to pretend all is just fine now?
Everything in Ottawa closes early. There’s a huge sign that says “Dunn’s Open 24 Hours” but I was just told they close at 9pm! The Shopper’s Drug Mart near my hotel closed at 5pm. And the nearest one closes soon. How do you people live like this?
Headline is wrong, story is wrong, and and they are using a stock photo from like 10 years ago. Lazy. And people wonder why conservatives don’t like the CBC.
The CBC cancelling conservative and Jewish voices, but I expect a lot of pro-Hamas, anti-conservative misinformation to continue from them the next few weeks. It’s time to finally axe this network.
NEW: The CBC says
@Anthony__Koch
will no longer be a contributor to
@PnPCBC
after his recent social media outbursts.
For context, these posts include telling Sarah Jama to "go back to Somalia" and threatening to dox academics who express support for Palestine.
Peter Bethlenfalvy is the smartest person I have the pleasure of knowing. He will be a great Finance Minister and bring stability and hope as we move into post pandemic Ontario. He’s fiscally responsible and a true conservative with compassion for all. Follow him
