Everyone can have their own opinions or ideas about agents...however, after working on the team side for a long time, if a player doesn't understand the enormously negative implications of NOT having an experienced and credible agent, he/ she is making a HUGE and potentially LIFE
Exhibit A- when Fred was cut by TB, he had many opportunities around the league. His agent (
@DrewJRosenhaus
) sent him to the
@Eagles
PS because he knew
@CoachStoutland
was/ is the best OL coach in the league (incredible person and friend) and that the

focus on player
Jeff Stoutland on this quote from Fred Johnson: “The thing that I believe in as the coach — and maybe this is my secret sauce, I don't know — I only get a certain amount of time with somebody, and for me to show that player what he can become — you've heard me say this before,
In fact...because this situation has really triggered me...if someone wants to put this together, if the
@NFLPA
can't or won't do it, I am happy to jump on a Zoom with high school and college players, parents, and anyone else who cares about college players, to explain the ways
@PeteThamel
The lack of a legitimate certification process for 'agents' on the NIL side is a 2-sided problem. Players are not getting representation they deserve and teams are dealing with people who are not vested in the broader ecosystem. (And in many cases, do not have enough experience
How do good teams ensure that they’ll ‘pay the right guys’?
1. Develop their PEOPLE
2. Efficient and repeatable PROCESS
3. Highest quality INFORMATION
These are the main areas The Athlete Group

is focused on helping sports organizations get better at.
"You guys keep talking about a 20 million dollar roster. If you don't pay the right guys, you'll be shit out of luck." - Nick Saban
"Congratulations- you just broke the internet." - Kirk Herbstreit
Was able to get more in-depth on a variety of topics with my old friend
@JohnMiddlekauff
including
@theathletegrp
, NFL contract details, and why NFL hiring still doesn’t make a lot of sense to me…including why my favorite contracts I worked on were
@CutonDime25
and
@JalenHurts
.
A question NCAA coaches should be asking themselves…am I, and my team, better off with GM-type responsibilities on my plate or on someone else’s. The NFL already knows the answer.
Bill O'Brien: Taking Texans' GM job was a mistake, I wish I didn't do that
@JustinPugh
@Giants
@Eagles
Don’t want to get into the subjective Eagles v Giants stuff but this is not an accurate way to differentiate the 2 teams’ approach to cap/ roster management. ‘Front loading cash’ is not what the Eagles do by any means.
An example of how being ‘armed’ with a fraction of the info and technically assembling only ‘the facts’, it’s possible to infer conclusions that aren’t accurate but divisive. Just remember, your opinions are often shaped by this…
Btw- not making a stmt about Pete and Gary.
My story not long after Peter DeLuca and Gary Dorshimer didn’t return with the

and how it seemingly contributed to the start of a three-year spiral:
Handling of Darren Sproles’ injury raises more questions about Eagles’ new medical staff:
@devinweber796
I left because I wanted to grow, create and build something…and I saw a great opportunity. Also wanted to spend more time with my family.
Demise? Hells no. Best GM in the league and amazing group of people with great big picture strategy. Don’t see demise by any stretch.
A good overview below. Diagnosing and identifying the problems are step one but actually taking measures to start thinking through the solutions to these is what will differentiate!
Why Private Equity and Other Major Changes are Coming for College Sports
@AnalyticsGOAT
@Cromartie_M
Those are all likely to be true but none of those actually mean he is, or isn't actually competent. The bloodlines, playing experience, and certification are not measures of whether a person is good at what they're doing. I don't even know him- but you should evaluate based on
@TheDigitalDam
@ESPNRittenberg
That's a very odd take, IMO...what you bring up seems like a fairly unrelated element to this story. We're saying he never had anything in writing, no? What you're saying can be true and irrelevant simultaneously...and seems to be here.

Wow...invaluable? Thanks! I'm going to hire you to do my PR and negotiate with clients for me. Perhaps you can also vouch for me to my kids, who tell me how little I know.
@mele_coach
This doesn't seem like a viable option until/ if there is a more formal, collectively bargained working agreement between schools and players.
