In 2012 I started running again because I wanted to lose weight plus also I wanted to run under 60 minutes for 10 mile,so in 2014 I ran 59:30 for 10 mile aged 57 so here I am doing hill reps in Wales.

This 60 minute 10 mile is a great target.When I took up running again at 55 that was my aim it took 2 years to go from not running for over 22 years to going sub 60 minutes for 10 mile

Well yesterday was in Edinburgh to see my consultant regarding my cancer treatment.The top & bottom of it is no trace is to be found the Radiotherapy worked ive just to keep taking the tablets and injections & all is good. #NHS @ #Western @ #Edinburgh thanks

Just retweeting this picture just finished my radiotherapy & this is how I feel fxxxxd as I was in this race,this was my hardest marathon I think I ran 2:23 but the time was & is irrelevant the thing is I finished So now I can plan on getting well 👍

What a beautiful morning ground frozen so no mud about so clean dog's 😁 This is the best I've felt since I started this cancer battle 7 months ago 👊 Just started my radiotherapy which finishes end of January.

Well chemo started today with an injection plus taking some pills & the threat of losing what hair is left on my head,but on the plus side I'll only need a cloth to shine it up 😁 happy days

marathon training as started there is no secret recipe so Don't get tied up with buzz word's Get a long run in TOF every week Train to your plan, have a plan Pencil in a rest day if you need it Pencil in a down week if you need it Consistency is the key

I pinched this from FB (Shel Cowels) who finished 2nd it was from the Barnsley half marathon My diary says "set off easy by 2 mile I was alone ran hard up to 10 mile then relaxed until the finish" 1st in 64:48 won the Yorkshire & Northen championship as well.

Always liked this photo turning out for my club but the day before this I did a 12k session & only 5 days after running 63:09 for the half in the same race Steve Jones ran a Worlds best 61:18. That's how to over train 😁

The month before this I had run 49 mins for 10 mile at the Feriby 10,after being stuck in a rut hitting 50 minute 10 milers for about 3 years I got two on the bounce this race I led from gun to tape 👊

Won this 39 years ago today gun to tape I had a abscess on my tooth but just before the off my it burst. The course is a tough one and can be cold on the tops I had run the course faster in 1982 but only got 2nd that year,this was a Yorkshire title for me 👍

#TourdeFrance 150 riders racing together for 3 weeks 5 hrs at a time in very close approximate also at times very close to joe public. No positive test for #covid . This got me thinking about the xcountry season just saying 👍

Well that's it end of part 2 I really just wanted to show runners that you can go from zero running wise to a 2:15 marathon and beyond. At the time I ran this it was only 6 minutes off the world record I thought it was impressive solo win by 7 minutes

Just realized 40 years ago I got my first England vest & in the process ran a PB in the marathon (2:29) this caused me to have one more go & at this marathon winter training i increased the miles from 120 to maxing out @ 160 😁

Been a tough day my wife Sallie fainted at work,so we went from the doctor's to the Hospital arrived at 9:30 AM just got home now 9:00 PM diagnosed with unstable angina and of course the doctors,nurses totally amazing #NHS 👍 thanks

Years and years ago when I ran I just ran I never bothered about the weather I just put down in my training diary a bit windy or heavy rain,or snow or frozen no big deal it's seems very alien to me this moaning about the weather.
