Come build the future of money with us
We are now hiring a Software Engineer and Mobile Engineer (iOS) to join us at Tuyo in our Madrid HQ

Today I resigned as Aragon One's CEO.
Leading this team has been the privilege and adventure of a lifetime and I am immensely proud of what we achieved.
I feel quite sad that it's come to this, but given circumstances following, I don't think I can keep doing a good job.
I am thrilled to finally announce what I have been working on for the past year
@firm
is building the backbone of internet-native companies. Companies that run on smart contracts, instead of stacks of legal docs
👇
Finally, this is part of a note I sent the Association as a last attempt to stop this.
The ideas and what we were working for at Aragon are way larger than myself, the Association or even the Aragon project.
Even today, I can't wait to live in this future. Let's make it happen.
The first Stock Purchase Agreement for an internet-native company on
@firm
was just executed!
It happened onchain end to end in one atomic 'board resolution' transaction in which the sale was approved by the board, funds transferred to the treasury of the company and shares
Crypto shouldn't be so painful, it's time to start over
Introducing Tuyo: the all-in-one crypto app that puts power into your hands
Details on how to get early access at the end of the thread 👇
My productivity using Foundry for Solidity dev is easily 2-3x than with other tools I used before.
No context/lang switching between src and tests + a reasonable testing environment within the EVM have made it for me.

This week we finished
@Firm
protocol v1.0, a protocol to run sane internet-native companies that operate mostly onchain.
I think it is very good and I am really happy with where we got with months of shaping and polish.
Can’t wait to open source it and ship it next year!
I am incredibly happy that Firm protocol v1 is now open source and live!
It feels somewhat of a culmination of years of thinking about ideas around onchain organizations
We have some exciting news to share today! After months of building, we just released Firm protocol v1.
Firm protocol is our interpretation of what the software core of internet-native companies should be.
It's an open source protocol to power onchain companies 👇
Very emotional day today as
@AragonAssoc
is liquidating and redeeming all ANT for ETH
It's been a monumental effort from everyone at Aragon to pull this off and do things right
Truly grateful to everyone who has poured their hearts into Aragon all these years
Thank you 🦅♥️
The
@AragonAssoc
deploys most of the treasury (>$155m, 87%) to allow all token holders to redeem ANT for ETH, dissolves itself, and passes the torch to continue the mission.
Discover why 👇🧵
To all my team mates: thank you for giving so much love to the project and doing a terrific job while being so principled. I learned so much from you, you were my university.
I know how incredibly hard these weeks have been, and I have profound respect for what you have done.
This
@EFDevcon
panel with
@tayvano_
,
@hudsonjameson
,
@Mudit__Gupta
was one of my favorite talks I attended to last week
Required watching for anyone working/leading teams in the space. Even if some things could be overkill early on, good to have in mind
It’s been so great to see this live in Denver with such a big Aragon presence celebrating the launch of the new stack.
Big props to the
@AragonProject
team for all the hard work leading to today!
Meet Aragon OSx and Aragon App, the most user-friendly tech stack to launch your DAO, live on mainnet 🚀
Start experimenting with governance at the speed of software today!
It’s been a rough few days for Aragon and I am happy to see the team undo some of the decisions that were communicated two days ago.
My personal view is that in trying to prevent what seemed like a governance attack, some things were communicated that undermined important core
1/
@izqui9
and started Aragon in 2016 — we were 19 and 21, equal amounts energetic, idealistic and naive.
Without that touch of naiveté, who would start something like Aragon the same year The DAO was hacked?
While I am leaving Aragon One, I will keep being an active member of the Aragon community
I also continue being a board member of the Association and I will keep trying to steer it in the right direction using any necessary means, pushing for its true decentralization ASAP
introducing the Polygon Governance Hub — a unified & transparent interface for community governance, developed with
@AragonProject
.
built hand-in-hand with the community, the hub marks the next chapter of Polygon governance and community ownership.
more on what this means 🧵
To the Aragon community: I really hope we get through this and Aragon keeps flourishing. Thanks for all your support over the years.
Your petition for more transparency and voice over Association decisions has not fallen on deaf ears and I will continue pushing for it.
I just published an essay that I wrote exactly one year ago when exploring the internet-native companies problem space
Even though a lot of ideas have evolved, it's the seed that led to starting
@Firm
which is why I wanted to just publish it unedited
I have read a lot and been asked a lot about what it takes to have shares in legal companies represented by tokens.
It's amazing that the best on the topic to date is a somewhat obscure post written by
@lex_node
on his wordpress back in 2018.
So part of every OpenSea order has a 'user inputable' address that is 'delegatecall'ed into when the order is executed?
This is quite a dangerous design decision, but even more so when this 'target' address is part of a blob of data that gets hashed and blindly signed.
Incredibly happy with
@firm
's reception this week. Hard work making internet-native companies a reality barely started, but definitely feels like a milestone!
Can't wait to be back at
@EFDevcon
next week 🇨🇴
After some hectic months, I took two weeks completely offline following a doctor's recommendation
While I was off, a series of decisions were made in the Aragon Association (mainly wrt its governance) that I disagreed both with the decisions themselves and how they were taken
After close to a year of increasingly feeling dumb, really happy to finally have found my physically $SOCKS today.
Will wear them with pride 🦄
@mikedemarais
Amusing to see this (one of the most important onchain votes ever) run on Aragon the same day that I hear some dude say that Aragon was a depressing place to work at in 2018-19 since we basically were waiting for DAOs to happen (at the same time while we worked on what Lido runs)
📢 The Aragon vote to implement the Lido on Ethereum V2 upgrade is now live! 📢
You can cast your vote on Lido’s most important upgrade to date here:
Assuming the vote passes, Lido V2 will go live on May 15th 🏝️
There were several proposals put forward to fix this, but there was no willingness to revert or amend these decisions and actions.
As a result, no changes were made. This motivated the team to leave, and it is also the reason why I am resigning.
As a long time reader and fan of
@thegeneralistco
, when Mario asked me for recs for devs to build the infra for their
@FoxesNFT
v2, I jumped in immediately myself
The auction starts at 10pm UTC today (5pm EST)
Let's dive in some of the infra powering today’s auction 🧵
Building Philosophical Foxes is one of the most challenging things I've ever done.
It's also the most creative. It brings stories, artwork, economics and technology into a single package.
Tomorrow,
@FoxesNFT
takes the next step. I'm insanely nervous. 🧵
I have built this myself and still find it incredible that this level of UX is now possible
Trading on DEXs with an experience comparable or superior to CEXs thanks to L2s and AA magic. Then have it on my bank account in 5 mins
Big shift underway in how most people do crypto
Introducing Cash in Tuyo
Using the new Cash section, you can now do instant deposits and withdraws to and from your bank account for free (USD and EUR)
Easiest and fastest on/offramp to completely self-custodial trading
If not yet on the beta, join the waitlist (link in bio)
The experience of going from money in my bank account to trading it on a DEX in 5mins still feels surreal every time I use it
Recorded a little video showing the entire flow
Euro deposits just landed in Tuyo 🇪🇺
Go from Euros in your bank account to buying tokens on a DEX in under 5 minutes
Getting into crypto has never been easier
I am beyond excited that
@aperezpaya
is joining
@Firm
as a cofounder.
He's one of my kindest and sharpest long time friends with an enviable growth mindset.
Lil story time 👇
💥 I am super excited to announce that I’ll be joining forces with
@izqui9
to make internet-native companies a reality! 💥
🔥 Today, we are introducing the v1 of the
@Firm
Protocol!
ENS was one of the projects which made me get Ethereum back when we built an ENS <> Keybase bridge reg for Aragon’s MVP in 2016
Very excited for this. Even though the multisig has governed ENS in a flawless way IMO, thrilled to see it go full DAO
Congrats
@nicksdjohnson
+ team!
ENS is decentralizing governance & is now accepting applications for DAO delegates.
$ENS governance tokens will be opened for claiming by ENS users (snapshot made yesterday) a week from today, with more details about it then.

Excited to go back to EthCC next week after a few years
EthCC (first edition was called EDCON) was my first ever Ethereum conference and will always be such a special one for me
We will be at EthCC and Modular Summit in Brussels next week
Reach out to us (
@aperezpaya
@izqui9
) to chat chain abstraction and the upcoming great onboarding wave!
Today 85360 ETH (~99%) was transferred to the redemption contract, with 5% of outstanding supply already redeemed 🎉
Reminder for all ANT holders to redeem their ANT at 🦅
Crypto is changing the world, but the corporation itself is not
Internet-native companies are just what you imagine them to be: fully digital entities that live and operate on crypto rails, yet legally compliant and with the same rights and protections of regular companies
While everything is frothy, it’s easy to be impressed by very sudden rises and shiny things very short term sighted
I can only respect and admire the long term game of
@brian_armstrong
et al with
@coinbase
. Imo they are very underappreciated and this industry owes them a lot
For anyone interested in this problem, we made some early progress on this at Aragon with Radspec.
We never got to building a global registry for function descriptions, but would love to see it built
Companies are a great tool to build things that require clear direction and leadership
DAOs are great when they are protocol-like and autonomous as in sovereign
Internet-native companies shouldn't try to be DAOs, but as both are internet native, they can work together perfectly
Given recent misteps (+ interests) it’s easy to treat Aragon as a punching ball, but it pains me to see the integrity of early days questiond
This attempt to rewrite history and leave aside the incredible work
@AragonOneTeam
did is unfair to people who devoted their soul to this
Alex and I met at an iOS dev meetup in Madrid when we were 14 y/o and we've been friends since
When applying for my first real job, he had applied for the same role as well. When asked about each other in the interview, we spoke so highly of each other that they hired us both
Every time I have to pay a friend for something, I always offer sending them crypto to their Tuyo account first. They almost always accept and a lot of crypto has been distributed this way
A tuyizum is how we call a tuyo tx to settle up a debt (for bizum which is spain’s venmo)
What a brutal day for crypto irregardless of exposure/thoughts on Terra
Barely exposed myself (some $UST), but find it very distateful that so many are taking a victory lap today. Obviously will have wide repercusions for the entire industry and people got badly hurt
Stay safe!
It's going to take a true tech and legal heavy lift to make internet-native companies a reality. We have been thinking about this problem and how to solve different pieces for years
We are convinced that on-chain companies will happen and are excited to help shape them
Very few things make me as happy as seeing
@POKTnetwork
thrive as much as it has been lately!
@luyzdeleon
,
@o_rourke
and team are killing it with values and mission that are so easy to root for and stand behind.
@ameensol
@AragonProject
Highest stakes ones that I know of:
- Lido (forked UI, core of system uses aOS including stETH )
- Curve (uses apps without UI on Aragon, see )
- Decentraland
all the fud around polkadot's marketing spend might actually be their best marketing action yet
i hadn't heard of them in a year and 1 in 10 tweets i am being shown today is about this
Polkadot spent $37m USD in outreach during the first half of 2024, targeting new users, developers, and businesses
• $10m on ads/sponsorships
• $4.4m on influencers
• $4m on digital ads
Yet Polkadot still seems invisible on X and elsewhere.
Blatant crimes being live broadcast to millions of people on twitter is the craziest shit I have ever seen, enabled by the surrealness of this week.
The fact that it looks like a comedy show and we are looking forward to the movie is just the cherry on the cake. A fucking joke.
We launched the new stack two months ago. Three things:
- Aragon OSx; protocol with focus on flexibility and security
- Aragon SDK; to empower developers
- Aragon App; the homebase for your DAO
But what have we been doing in the last two months? 🧵
Now,
@itstuyo
shows you inflight funds when tokens are bridging as part of an action. No more head scratching and wondering where your money went.
We also just sent the second batch of beta invites to those on top of the waitlist (join waitlist at !)
Aragon has made many mistakes, and in my time leading the project (until late 2020) many of those I feel directly responsible. Also it sucks that the full vision hasn’t realized
However, I think there’s a line in making up an alternative version of the past and our intentions
Buenísima presentación de
@izqui9
sobre Web3, gobernanza y el futuro de las corporaciones en
@cryptoplaza_es
Y compartiendo aquello por lo que muchos decidimos entrar en Web3:
“Leveraging the cost of creation to zero” 🚀
I wasn't aware of how much my way of coding has changed from using Copilot until I was writing some tests on a plane with no Internet. Caught myself not typing and just waiting for the suggestion several times
Also what a nice feeling when the first suggestion just popped up now
While at
@aragonproject
, DAOs went from concept to reality. Today there are +10k DAOs and a rich ecosystem of tools
With Aragon's strong new leadership and roadmap to fully become a DAO by February, I decided to leave the board and fully focus on the other side of crypto orgs
This is so unfair and stupid it hurts.
Pool Together is one of the good ones and behind the mind blow moment to understand DeFi for so many people.
Consider supporting them if you can! Just got a bird in a suit myself 🫡
As some of you know, I’m currently being sued (personally) in a putative class action lawsuit.
I can’t speak about it publicly because the litigation is ongoing but I want to share some context and ask for your help.
the crypto/onchain "applications" might just be tokens, yields, and digital entities
done right, this is not only enough, but world changing to a crazy extent
We are not ready to show the product just yet (although we are already using Firm in prod internally to run Firm and it's great!)
Today, we are excited to release the first version of Firm's website and launch the brand
As a nerd, this looks extremely cool to me and I'm excited to play with it
But I think it is delusional to think that this will move the needle/appeal to the mainstream. We have tapped out the addressable market of ppl who will install desktop chrome extensions for crypto stuff
IANAL but SEC's complaint against Consensys over Metamask Staking looks surprisingly weak.
It solely focuses on the fact by providing access to staking ETH via stETH and rETH (which they allegue are securities) they are engaging in an unregistered sale of securities (since Lido
From our experience with Tuyo, new crypto users don’t perceive the difference between buying some crypto on Tuyo vs a CEX (and actually some prefer it bc some CEX apps are cluttered af)
Just this week a 65yo, got into the beta, onramped and bought some ETH on Arbitrum w/o help
I really like what
@CoinbaseWallet
is doing, but if they are the only ones succeeding in the AA arena, this won’t be industry I signed for. Who else apart from them and
@itstuyo
are taking crypto UX to another level, and what is it that we are missing?
Something that still feels incredible about the state of L2s today is that incredibly complex and heavy transactions like this one costs literally 5 cents in network fees.
There's some bearish sentiment on the timeline but I haven't felt more bullish in years. The thing works.
Adding up to the anger of last week, fucking the
@nytimes
comes up an incredible fluff piece on FTX with 0 mentions of fraud or the fact that they stole $10,000,000,000 of user funds to prop up their hedge fund. The right donations go a long way.
A tricky balance when building web3 products is the one between security and iteration speed
Teams generally prioritize the former (not losing users' money) at the expense of the later (products evolve slowly)
At
@Firm
we are making a tradeoff to optimize for iteration 👇
I have been using Reflect for over half a year and I found it to be an incredible tool.
It's the only system that I have tried that I have been able to stick to and write (almost) every day.
Totally recommend giving it a go, I love it
Today, after a year of polishing, we are launching , our networked note-taking tool.
Read on for the story behind the scenes and why we built this company.
🧵👇🎉
@ameensol
Well I think we weren't the only ones to learn the hard way how much time some of these things take and how fruitless some of the side-quests were unfortunately
Also the current group of folks at Aragon is stellar and I am very optimistic about what's in store
i started my career as an iOS dev but had forgotten how annoying Apple can be
we are on round 7 (!!!) of app review for
@itstuyo
and the whole thing is feeling like chewing glass
permissionless innovation was one of the top reasons that captivated me about Ethereum 8 years ago
Moving everyone to smart accounts allows ditching approvals forever by doing just-in-time approvals
When swapping on
@itstuyo
, the user approves the swapper contract the exact amount needed, executes the swap and unless it receives the expected amount it reverts it all
+ borderless and permissionless capital formation aka ICOs is the holy grail
even though it kind of falls under tokens, I think that mechanisms closer to ICOs are necessary for productive enterprises. style memecoin launches are just greater fool games
the crypto/onchain "applications" might just be tokens, yields, and digital entities
done right, this is not only enough, but world changing to a crazy extent
