While we’re still cleaning up from Hurricane Helene’s impact to our service area, we’re sending some crews to help rebuild some of the damaged Southeastern power grid.
Crews are being positioned at our staging site in Lake City in preparation for Hurricane Ian. We are preparing so to be ready to execute on our proven plan to restore power safely and as quickly as possible.
Florida Power & Light sending crews to Puerto Rico to help accelerate restoration efforts. More than 100 bucket trucks & and electrical equip departing this wk from FL. In early Jan. 140 lineworkers and support staff will arrive & they will remain on the island as long as needed.

FPL is finalizing preparations and ready to respond to Hurricane Ian. The Sarasota Fairgrounds is one of many staging sites where we have our personnel and equipment pre-positioned to respond quickly and safely.
Thank you to our lineworkers and mutual assistance partners that worked overnight to restore electricity to customers affected by the storm. We have restored power to 60% of customers and will continue restoring power safely and as quickly as possible.

Hurricane Ian’s catastrophic winds will mean parts of our system will need to be rebuilt – not restored. Be prepared for widespread, extended outages as we are assessing the damage. We are already at work restoring power where we can do so safely.
We’ve restored service to nearly 80% of FPL customers affected by Hurricane Ian. Nearly 1.7 million customers have now been restored as of 5 p.m. today.
Home by home, street by street and community by community, our restoration crews worked through the night to restore power in Deep Creek, Punta Gorda. We have restored power to 75% of customers and will continue restoring power safely and as quickly as possible.
Not all heroes wear capes - ours wear hard hats, safety vests, goggles, and gloves; they work in the field, in staging sites, and offices. Thank you to our FPL employees, for remaining committed to the goal of helping those without power get their lights back on.

FPL has restored power to 92% of the approximately 2.1 million customers affected by Ian. We are committed to restoring the remaining counties and communities with our crews and the support of our mutual assistance partners.
FPL crews will be working overnight and will continue until every customer has electricity. Significant progress made over the weekend will allow us to restore power to remaining customers, two days ahead of forecast.
