Lil Jon casually walked into a mosque and became Muslim today. Everyone who frequents mosques has witnessed shahadahs in the past few weeks. Our weekly halaqa had two in the past two gatherings. My wife even has four non-Muslim coworkers who are fasting this Ramadan.

Khabib’s mom didn’t want him to keep fighting bc his father passed away (Allah have mercy on him) & couldn’t accompany him on his journey. He turned down millions & retired. Allah forgive us for belittling what our parents want bc we feel babied or we think they don’t “get it.”

If your sister or daughter was abused, you'd talk a big game about what you'd due to the abuser. But if the abuser is someone you like & he abuses a stranger, you make excuses, bc you lack empathy & only care about things you view as extensions of yourself.

To Allah we belong & to Him we return. My cousin Adnan just passed away. He was 28 yrs old. May Allah forgive his sins, give my aunt & his family patience, & ease his transition into the next life. May the people we have all lost be counted as martyrs, & may we reunite in Jannah.

My advice to every Muslim is to say salaam to as many other Muslims as you possibly can. Show some care and curiosity. Life passes by so quickly. In the blink of an eye, the stranger you said salaam to can become an old friend. Take the Prophet’s ﷺ advice. Invest in love.

A brother who attacked me on Twitter a few months ago claiming I was a hypocrite misrepresenting Islam recently announced that he is no longer Muslim. A sad reminder that the loudest & harshest voices may be the ones struggling most to hold on to the faith. May Allah protect us.

I'm not comfortable with Muslim men posting pics & videos of their workouts to a mixed-gender audience. I'm not accusing intentions, but it simply falls short of the level of hayaa'/modesty we should aim for, especially when women have much more difficult standards to adhere to.
