@johnvvariety Friends and I, peaking, blasting Beethovenโ€™s 3rd, thought we were all hallucinating blue and red lights on the walls. Turns out we were listening to it so loud people could hear if from blocks away and someone called the cops, but we were so high we didnโ€™t even answer the door.

One of the genius moments in Purgatorio is where Dante shows the proud being humbled by looking on divine artworks. This suggests (as Dante does in a few ways) that his own poem is divinely inspired, but also that one might remediate oneโ€™s own pride by engaging with it.

@Foz89107323 Similar experiments with plants. iirc Church music and certain types of classical were found to accelerate growth, whereas punk and metal were the worst of all, actually inhibiting it. Ironically I find itโ€™s reddit atheist types who refuse to think โ€˜materiallyโ€™ about music.
