If you want to argue the merits of the @beynate and @Yasir_Naqvi endorsement, go for it. The point of this race is to debate who should lead the OLP. But, Bonnie had no issues with Adil dropping out and endorsing her, so cool it with the fake outrage about "backroom deals".

Some flaws with the Schreiner ➡️OLP leader idea: 1) he is the leader of a provincial party. They won one seat last election. 2) the OLP has lost touch with grassroots members & organizing. A hand-picked candidate by OLP insiders does not address this problem, it exasperates it.

Inspired by @MikePMoffatt , here are some of my top takeaways from the election data: 1. Most of the PC wins were not close. Only 24% of their wins had a 10% or lower margin of victory. If you took away every seat they won by 10% or less, they still would have won a majority!

Say what you want about @BernieSanders policies, but he is one of the most genuine and hardworking politicians ever. It's clear he is in it for the right reasons (which can't be said for 90% of politicians) and I have no doubt that his campaigns changed politics for the better

To summarize: - Most PC wins weren't close (less than a quarter had a margin of victory <= 10%) - NDP had a huge drop in average vote share per riding (went from 34% avg vote share in 2018 to 24% in 2022) - the OLP lost a lot of close races, and the NDP won a lot of close races.

I don't agree with the narrative that this is the "nothing happened" election for 2 main reasons. First of all, when you look past the final seat counts there are major differences in the results of this election vs the 2019 election.

Amazing article. There is literally nothing good about our housing bubble, but it's leading to declining economic productivity and mental health, and just generally making life much worse for all Canadians.

I can't stand when politicians get criticized for "politicizing an event" when they pass a law to respond to it. Their jobs are to create laws that reflect what is going on in the world. Right after the event takes place (ie: the NS shooting) is exactly when the underlying issue

Most jurisdictions chose to prioritize either a) minimizing cases (Atlantic Canada, New Zealand) or b) minimizing the economic shock (most of USA). Ford's government has objectively failed at achieving either of these. It's been a year of incompetence.
