The #Rockies found a star in the 16th round last year. This spring, @AustinEmener posted a 1.93 ERA across 18.2 innings. 11 H, 7 BB, 27 K. Fastball sat 92-95 (avg 93.4) and topped at 96. He showed a plus changeup, a plus slider, and improved command.

A couple years ago, I was at a game and ended up talking with a fan in the stands. He told me he had played pro ball, and we talked for a few innings. As the game ended I shook his hand and he told me his name. Had no idea I was talking to a Hall of Famer. RIP Phil Niekro.

“Five tool player” is an overused term, but @kaleb22cost is a five tool player! Loose, repeatable swing with explosive bat speed. Controls the strike zone well and knows what he’s hunting for at the plate. His ceiling is the roof!
