RACE PACE ANALYSIS
Between Lap 1 and 26 Leclerc was around 0.21% faster than Verstappen, and 0.57% faster than Russell: there wouldn't have been any competition
At the end of the race Verstappen had a 0.69%/lap gap on Russell, so Mercedes are still far away from the top
RACE ANALYSIS🇧🇪
'Dominance' is the only word that can be used to describe Max Verstappen's and Red Bull's race yesterday: in the past 6 years i have never seen something like this, not even with the W11 in 2020! Here are the pace numbers behind the Belgian Grand Prix👇
"Perez deliberately crashed in qualifying in Monaco and later admitted it to Helmut Marko and Christian Horner. Max Verstappen has not forgotten that."
Telemetry evidence is... crushing😬Perez gives the throttle a big hit in the exit of Portier.
🔵=previous lap, ⚪️=crash
Het klopt wat
@TomCoronel
zojuist zegt bij ViaPlay. Pérez is in Monaco opzettelijk gecrasht in kwalificatie en heeft dat later ook toegegeven tegenover Helmut Marko en Christian Horner. Dat is Max Verstappen niet vergeten.

NEWS! Not positive info if you're a Mercedes fan: the new package expected to debut at the Emilia Romagna GP could be delayed and, in that case, won't be fitted on the car until the Spanish Grand Prix. Mercedes will also bring the first evolution of their PU in Spain
NEWS! Mercedes are currently trying to work on the new package to debut at the Australian Grand Prix, but it's a race against time. If all goes to plan, this upgrade will come in three steps (🇦🇺, 🇮🇹, 🇪🇸) with significant weight loss and further upgrades to the floor section
Mercedes will be behind Red Bull and Ferrari for the upcoming races, but at Imola expect a Mercedes upgrade as well as an upgrade on the F1-75. Then we will see who truly has understood their car and who can make the biggest leaps with development
Not 1, not 2, not 3, but 4 DRS zones will be available this weekend!
That is a total of about 2.4km of DRS straight out of the 5.3km circuit: 45% of the length!!
If the F1-75 and the RB18 are as close as they are expected to be, we're in for a great weekend🔜🇦🇺
NEWS! Mercedes are expected to bring a new floor in order to make the porpoising effect better on the W13, which is already much better than the first day of testing in Bahrain. The team is uncertain if they can manage to bring these parts next week, but that's the plan

Mercedes 'sandbagged' heavily in the first day of testing, losing most of the time in the straights compared to Ferrari. The two cars have similar performances in the corners, but it's still early days.
Tomorrow expect the teams to push a little more
Main issues with Mercedes' clients
Aston Martin (AMR22):
•more than 10kg overweight
•big porpoising issues
Williams (FW43):
•efficient but lacks downforce
•not optimized weight distribution
McLaren (MCL36):
•lack of downforce
•issues with brakes

RACE ANALYSIS🇦🇺
Charles Leclerc won in Australia by more than 20 seconds, despite a mid-race Safety Car: this weekend Ferrari showed all their strengths, especially the knowledge of their F1-75. Red Bull didn't make the correct set-up decisions and this caused them to suffer-
NEWS! Ferrari are working on bringing a new floor that will allow the F1-75 to run even closer to the ground, therefore allowing to use a rear wing with less downforce and consequently improve efficiency.
Maranello have not yet managed to manage porpoising as well as on the RB18
🇨🇦The race was very similar to Jeddah: Ferrari equal or even slightly quicker on race pace, but Red Bull's top speed proves crucial once again. Verstappen doesn't crack easily under pressure and today he showed why he is the reigning World Champion. Good race from Sainz but with-
NEWS! Red Bull will bring a weight reduction package at Imola!
Helmut Marko: “The Ferrari is a car that is always fast, in all conditions. Our car is definitely more difficult to tune, but we will lose some weight in Imola. That should give us a significant time advantage."
FERRARI VS RED BULL⚔️
An amazing Austrian Grand Prix left us with a lot of technical talking points: Red Bull's high wear (not a surprise if you read the Sprint analysis), Ferrari's pace and more.
I might miss some details since i was at the track, but here's the analysis👇
Yuki Tsunoda after 6 races-
-in 2021:
Race H2H 1-4 (+0.51%)
Quali H2H 0-5 (+0.63%)
P14 in the WDC, 8 points (-23 to GAS)
-in 2022:
Race H2H 2-1 (-0.24%)
Quali H2H 2-3 (+0.14%)
P11 in the WDC, 11 points (+5 to GAS)
FERRARI vs RED BULL⚔️
In these first four races we saw different aspects of the two title challengers, very close in some races and quite far in other.
Overall, the F1-75 has been faster so far, but let's look at it with a bit more detail
I think there is some confusion about Mercedes' real situation at the moment on Twitter: the W13 has issues with porpoising and hasn't had a great Pre-Season test in Bahrain, but i don't expect Hamilton and Russell to be in the midfield at all this weekend.

Towards the end of the day we saw a bit more of the Mercedes, but after Turn 8 the C5 tyres fall off a lot. There seems to be an issue once the car hits 250kph especially in non-DRS zones, and this makes me think of one thing: porpoising
NEWS! After the problems with brakes in the second part of Pre Season testing, McLaren had to start the development programme from scratch: updates were initially planned for both Jeddah and Melbourne and had to be cancelled. The car is the same as the one seen in Bahrain
NEWS! In recent weeks and months, Porsche and Red Bull have been in talks according to rumours all around the paddock. From what I am told the contract between the two parties has been signed: some talk about a 500m$ investment from the VW Group!

RACE ANALYSIS | Saudi Arabian GP🇸🇦
[Stint 1] In the first stint Perez is very fast, 0.1s faster than LEC, 0.2s faster than VER and 0.4s faster than SAI. Verstappen's move on Sainz in Turn 1 turned out to be crucial later on: without that overtake, Ferrari would have won the race
FP2 Analysis🇧🇪
Max Verstappen P1, Charles Leclerc P2: F1 is back. Ferrari with ~30HP missing compared to their usual Friday running which can be translated to ~0.75s left on the table. The F175 could be faster than the RB18 in the straight line with these downforce levels. More👇
NEWS! Alongside the new low downforce package, Ferrari will turn up the power of their engines, after completing the reliability programme on the test benches, to reply to Red Bull at Miami. In contrast to recent reports, the new ERS isn't expected to debut in the USA
F175 ANALYSIS!
Starting off, the nosecone of the 2022 Ferrari is very aggressive: it's very slim and touches the first flap of the front wing. In general we can see that the car was built very low (opposite to AM who have a quite high front wing, with air passing underneath)
RB18🔎W13🔎F175
Here is the comparison between the rear views of the three big teams. Red Bull has a very big engine opening, while Mercedes' and Ferrari's are much tighter.

Why is Tsunoda struggling? An explanation can be found in this comparison with his teammate around Gasly. The frenchman has a very aggressive driving style which works on the AT02.
On the other side Tsunoda is much smoother while driving and this doesn't help him

Friday: 🌧️54%, 19°C max
Saturday: 🌧️72%, 18°C max
Sunday: 🌧️24%, 20°C max
With temperatures <20°C the Red Bull RB18 has always been the fastest car (Quali&Race) this season
NEWS! Gazzetta Dello Sport found out what Mercedes' major problems were in Bahrain: "In the few fast corners the car lost aerodynamic load, both under the car (especially at the rear) and at the same time on the upper part of the bodywork."
🇨🇦Mercedes had their best race of the season yesterday: P3 and P4 finish, around ~+0.3/0.4s from the leaders.
The W13 is very unpredictable but looking at the Silverstone circuit i would not be surprised to see Hamilton and Russell very close to the Ferraris and Red Bulls
NEWS! It seems like Red Bull's weight reduction plan will be split between the next rounds: a first upgrade will come at Imola, while another one should arrive in Spain!
Helmut Marko: "If we get to Barcelona and come close to Ferrari [in weight], we are already satisfied"
There were many requests for Hamilton's race pace compared to Verstappen
HAM was 0.38% (0.33s) slower than VER on average, and this is confirmed by Mercedes: a big step forwards for the W13
More will be discussed on the podcast, which i hope to be able to publish on Wednesday
FP2 Telemetry Analysis
[RUS vs LEC] Mercedes surprised everyone this weekend. The W13 didn't suffer porpoising for the higher ride heights and lower downforce setups and this allowed them to gain on the straights compared to Ferrari
FP1 Telemetry Comparison: Ferrari and Red Bull are tied until the start of the last section, from Turn 11 to the Finish Line Carlos Sainz makes up 0.7s on Sergio Perez (from ~0.1s down to ~0.6s up). Here is what it looks like from the throttle application levels. Turn 11⬇️
RACE PACE SPRINT
Verstappen wasn't the fastest today, but thanks to his defense into Turn 1 he won: Leclerc had an average pace of 1.09.002, against Verstappen's 1.09.016 between Lap 3 and Lap 22
Mercedes further behind, Russell was around half a second back: 1.09.499
RACE ANALYSIS:
4 in a row: simply dominant form from Max Verstappen and Red Bull at the moment, on a track that on paper favoured the RB18 less than its competitors. But could have Mercedes snatched the win at Zandvoort? Here are the numbers⬇️
Max Verstappen and Red Bull kept their tyres in better shape for the end of the race, something Leclerc couldn't manage to do: the difference in pace swung from one lap to the other. Before Lap 14, LEC was lapping 0.117s faster than VER, afterwards he lost 0.162s on average
Quali Telemetry Analysis🇧🇪
Max Verstappen and his Red Bull RB18 seem unstoppable at the moment: 0.6s to his nearest rival, 0.8s to his teammate and 0.9s to his (ex) title rival! The layout of the circuit and the temperatures of the track made the results quite predictable👇
NEWS! Alpha Tauri will fit new parts on the AT03 for the Emilia Romagna GP. No details on what the upgrades are specifically
Gasly: "I can't wait to race in Imola because we will have a couple of new parts on the car."
Verstappen-Leclerc | Telemetry Comparison:
Compared to yesterday we can see Ferrari quite low on power (yellow) and maybe a bit higher on fuel. Verstappen gains a lot in Turn 6 (green) compared to Leclerc; both cars look very good one week ahead of the first Grand Prix!
Monaco GP Race Analysis🇲🇨
This race was won on strategy and it will be discussed on the Podcast, but here is the race pace:
Throughout the race Leclerc was fastest, 0.14% quicker than VER, 0.16% on SAI and 0.17% on PER. This is excluding laps on different tyres and out-laps
RED BULL vs FERRARI⚔️
Haven't updated this graphic in a while, here are the final detailed average pace differences between the RB18 and the F1-75.
As I find new data on the 2022 spreadsheet I'll publish it during the winter, like this one👍
RED BULL vs FERRARI⚔️
Here are the updated average race gaps between Ferrari and Red Bull. Ferrari were once again faster in Canada but, again, they couldn't take the win. Verstappen played a big role with his excellent defense and that makes it 6 consecutive wins for Red Bull

RACE ANALYSIS🇭🇺
The start of a long break, let's start with an analysis of yesterday's race, a very chaotic one. Charles Leclerc was the fastest on track throughout the Grand Prix, but let's analyze the race stint by stint with some notes to put everything into context
FP2 Telemetry Analysis
[LEC vs PER] The times suggested a big gap in the first place, but the data highlight the pace difference even more between the RB18 and F1-75. On the minimap you can see that mid corner the RB18 keeps up, but Leclerc gains a lot on corner exit. Let's see⬇️
Post-Race Analysis: Miami GP🇺🇸
Max Verstappen won his third race of the season despite starting P3 on the grid, and Red Bull's extraordinary pace on the medium tyre was key to this success: Leclerc and Sainz couldn't keep up with the RB18 n.1, who then held onto P1 after the SC

MIDFIELD BATTLE⚔️
Here is the average gap between the race pace behind the top 2 teams: as you can see Mercedes is very far ahead everyone. McLaren and Alfa Romeo are very good cars, with Haas, Alpine and Alpha Tauri close behind. Aston Martin and Williams are the slowest teams
W13 ANALYSIS
If you thought the F1-75's front wing was audacious, Mercedes have surprised everyone: the nosecone is very advanced, and the flaps are almost non existent towards the inside of the wing. The endplate has a very strange triangular shape.
Corriere Della Sera on the W13 upgrades for Bahrain Tests: "The car should be almost without sidepods, thanks to a revolutionary but efficient arrangement of the radiators in the highest area of the bodywork. This has produced impressive simulator performances."

Post-race impressions🇫🇷
Max Verstappen showed what he does best today: put the pressure on Leclerc and the latter made a mistake, something that Max has done only once this season in Spain and then went on to win that same race. At the moment, that's what separates the two
NEWS! Part of the W13's development package planned for Barcelona could be anticipated in Miami, according to Shovlin: "Maybe as soon as Miami we will start bringing some parts to the car that will hopefully give us an indication on whether we're moving in the right direction."

FP2 Telemetry Analysis
[LEC vs VER] On one lap there's no comparison between the two title contenders based on what we saw yesterday: Leclerc makes up time in most corners and doesn't lose much in the straights. Red Bull worked on the third sector, "only" 0.1s lost there
Pit Stop season averages after Monaco GP🇲🇨
-Red Bull still lead despite a 'bad' weekend (3.26)
-Ferrari are back under 3.00s: their crew was best after Alpine (2.55)
-Mercedes are under 3.00s for the third race in a row
-After Bahrain McLaren are always under 3.00s on average
Furthermore, on the Power Unit side, where Mercedes is losing ~0.2s according to AMuS, there will be two development phases, which will both debut before September 1st (MGU-K, battery and energy store freeze date). Mercedes seem to be going all-in, they haven't given up just yet!
Here's the comparison between the two wings on the F1-75: in 📸1 we can see a curved main plane on the car, while on 📸2 the main plane is almost flat. The second profile seems almost identical from these images, so it doesn't seem to have changed
Waiting for Red Bull's and Ferrari's big upgrade package i was curious to see the differences in straight line speed between Verstappen and Leclerc (new rear wing + beam wing) in the final laps of the Canadian Grand Prix where ➡️both had no tow and no DRS⬅️. Here is the data:
RACE PACE COMPARED TO 2022🇸🇦
Red Bull: -0.309%
Mercedes: -0.431%
Ferrari: +0.715%
⚠️NOTE: track has become around 0.7/0.8s slower than last year due to changes, virtually Red Bull and Mercedes gained 1 and 1.1s respectively, Ferrari (virtually) has the same pace as 2022
After seeing 5/10 cars, looking at the mechanical elements McLaren and Alfa Romeo are the teams who took the most risks:
MCL36 has a pull-rod front and push-rod rear (both unusual), C42 has a push-rod front and rear (unusual), while the rest have push-rod front and pull-rod rear
RACE ANALYSIS🇧🇭
Dominance. The Red Bull RB19 was perfect on Sunday, both drivers drove a perfect weekend and sent a big message to the other teams.
We saw it at times last year, but in 2023 this could be just another weekend. Let's look at the numbers behind the Bahrain GP👇
Quali Telemetry Analysis
[LEC vs VER] Verstappen's late DRS issue took away a brilliant end to Qualifying, and saw Leclerc "comfortably" taking Pole. The Monegasque was 4 tenths faster than his teammate with one attempt: so impressive! Let's analyze F1-75 vs RB18 now⬇️
FP2 Telemetry Analysis
[LEC vs VER] Once again these two top the timings, and once again the difference in performance is obvious: the F1-75 is strong in corners and traction, the RB18 in top speed. Ferrari makes time up on the first part of the straights, before the Red Bull-

W13 Development!
Mercedes have tested new engine covers during these first two days of testing: in the AM session of day one the W13 didn't feature any slot; then from the PM session of yesterday we saw some small guills next to the driver, and today another arrangement.
An update on this package: weight + aero parts debuted in Imola and Miami respectively as we saw, now the engineers will try a new floor and introduce the new Power Unit at the Spanish Grand Prix. No big performance gains until now, but we saw something on Friday in Miami
