If your employer had to call/text you and tell you to come to work would you have a job very long?
Same with athletes.
If someone has to ask you if you worked out or call you to remind you there is NO WAY you are as serious as you think or say.
Prioritize your Priorities.
What do you look for in a strength coach as a basketball coach? I got this from a high level basketball coach that I really respect. Thought it was really good. Worth your time to read regardless of your position.
My time with

What a Summer building with

Been in the lab with Clarke Holter learning how we can layer internal and external workloads using

All I can say is GRATEFUL. Above and beyond anything WE could ask or IMAGINE... EPH 3:20 🙏🏽 Love these dudes. Family is more than blood 💉 For those who have been a part of

you know what I mean. 🦴 We’ll enjoy tonight and get back to work. ⚒ Much love. ✊🏽
I would rather an athlete get 8 hours of sleep than meet me at 6am to “grind” even though I love early workouts. Takes way more discipline and mental toughness to prioritize sleep.
If you’re a college athlete understand that your coaching staff is supposed find players better than you. That’s their job! Your job is to come in and get better every single day. To push other players to get better. To elevate the program. Maybe this applies to all of life... 🤔
Fresh in late March? For many of us, that sounds like a lofty goal
Last week in Denver at elevation the Jays pushed tempo without the help of oxygen, while their opponents had it on their benches. Creighton's Jeremy Anderson is a big reason why

Jim Radcliffe literally changed the way I thought about human performance in the early 2000’s. Blown away by his ability to communicate and demonstrate. Appreciate the work

puts into bringing in people who challenge the status quo. ✊🏽
Went to bed with a broken heart, woke up the same. Great words from one of my dear friends,

Need for Speed 📖 3 Session 10: “Feel Less Like an Idiot” Great stuff from

High Performance Training for Sports is exactly what I expected. Exploring creating digital notes as well as my regular journal entries.

Here’s a sneak peek of chapter 13, Agility Training in High Performance Training for Sports featuring
@DocSoph
This is my way of reverse engineering training and learning. All credits to her and those who helped with the Venn Diagram of Agility. HUGE fan of her work.
Strength is the ability to overcome resistance.
True in sport and life.
I think C.S. Lewis said, "It's not the load that breaks you, it's the way you carry it."
Think on that one.
Maybe a little deeper than you think on first read.
One of the biggest lessons in my life is understanding that I'm not for everyone and everyone is not for me and more importantly being ok with that.
Part of life.
We all need people in our lives that say,
"I believe in you even when you don't believe in you."
That is real. That is true. That makes a difference.
Be that person. ✊🏽
Bedtime thought. If you don’t have people in your life who disagree with you, or tell you things you don’t want to hear I’d question the depths of your relationships. Real friendship is hard work. Not many have the capacity for it. Worth it for sure ✊🏽
When I showed up to work my guy
@Fergus_Connolly
had me set up. He noticed I needed an upgrade… Ferg, I appreciate you more than you know. Thank you for all you do, not just for me but for many. ✊🏽❤️ Roll Tide 🐘‼️
Confidence is built☝🏽rep at a one.
Day ➡️ Week ➡️ Month ➡️ Year ➡️ Life
When you stack days and they turn in the weeks and the weeks turn into months and the months turn into years.
You build your mind.
You build your spirit.
You build your life.
True in sport. True in life.
People man. It’s always the people. Value people. Invest in people. Develop people. Love people. The rest will work itself out. True in sport. True in life.
You’ll probably think I’m biased but I think

Every single day you get feedback on what you are doing.

I love rhythm and routine BUT it can come at a cost. What I’ve learned about myself and others. We need TENSION. We need STRESS. If people are too comfortable they will not change.
Getting better is boring until you get better. It’s monotonous. It’s mundane. It’s annoying at times… Until you actually get what you worked for. Keep. Stacking. Days. ⚒️🍇
Most underrated attributes in life.
1. Show Up Early
2. Work Hard
3. Be Consistent
Do that every single day and the right opportunities will find you.
True in sport. True in life.
Yesterday I talked with two people who are top 5% in their respective fields. Two key things I took away.
1. Simplicity with Excellence
2. They are actively trying to learn more about what they do
Keep.
Stacking.

I’m 46 and my mom text me every day. Sometimes it brings tears to my eyes.
When I was 12 she was honored as social worker of the year in our state. She didn’t even go to the award ceremony.
One of the most special people I’ve ever met.
When I grow up I want to be like her.
We’ve been building a layered approach to using internal and external metrics with

Connecting some dots the last couple months. Maybe more questions than answers…🤔🧐 Look forward to sharing more on this. Props to my guy CH.
