A favourite of HRH The Prince of Wales this time of year: the Magnolia ‘Heaven Scent’ tree that sits to the left of the House is stunning when in bloom, as it brings a burst of pink and white among the leafy greens and its sweet smell drifts through the warm spring air.

Filled with ripe pears and swathes of apples, October is a time of harvest in the Kitchen Garden. But it isn’t just fruit and vegetables flourishing this time of year; blue Echinops, orange helenium, pink phlox, and purple salvia flood the Kitchen Garden with colour and scent.

The raised design of the pool in the Lily Pool Garden was deliberately done so the water would catch more light and reflections from the surrounding landscape. When it is covered in snow or frost, it increases its reflective qualities, bouncing winter light around the garden.
