Leave pranapratishta, vigrahapooja and everything. Humans aren't capable of developing devotion towards the abstract. If you're devoted, you're already using some kind of iconography there. Our way is better thus than having to worship a corpse impaled on a stick.

Idolatry is sacrilegious not because “some book said so” but rather because it is a worship of the ephemeral and incomplete: the material. Idolatry is a type of materialism. Only the perfect and immortal is worthy of worship. Everything else is demeaning to you.

Some modern architectural renderings I stumbled upon online on kerala architecture. There still seems to be interest in the old. I do not own these images.

Indians can turn any nice spot into a no-go-zone really fast lol. This is a countryside in Palakkad, Kerala after someone put up reels about the beauty of the place on Instagram. Entire place was jam-packed on Sunday.
