Guys!!!
I'm very happy to be saying this; I am now published internationally.
I wrote about Sudanese Cinema for Shado mag, talking about its history, the SFG and a bit on the preservation work being done despite it all. I'd love to hear what you think.
People need to realize that there's a lot of good art, music, films and books out there. The reason you think you're in the worst era of human expression is because corporations push their putrid shit to you on every possible medium. Search for shit or capitalism wins. Simple.
My film has screened in Abuja and I'm in Lagos, just waiting to hear from my co-director and the friends that went to see it. Chai😔. I need to make money this year. No restrictions.

When discussing the aesthetics of Nigerian cinema, please engage with the politics of Nigerian living. The great Nigerian film should not just be measured against the metrics of the look and repartee. Reflect the realities, in whatever styles you embrace. Be a living archive.
Lagos!
@Retepoki
and I are screening our new film at Waf, Freedom Park this Thursday by 6pm. It's a free screening and I'm honored to be screening alongside the masterpiece, Mami Wata. Come through!!!

I'm running a fever, have a splitting headache and nausea wants to wound me, but I'm pleased to announce my talented brother's short film, which I had the pleasure to work on as an Assistant Director. Watch out for
@oduwolebayo
; privileged to be his friend and work partner.
I'm pleased to announce that my short film, is debuting in Abuja at the Institut Francais du Nigeria on the 9th of February.
It's showing alongside a slate of fantastic Nigerian short films.
All the Places I once Loved You.
RSVP (Abuja people only o)
I'm so grateful to everyone that showed up today and saw the film.
It's insane when I think about the fact that a few people cried after seeing it.
The reaction to it was beyond anything I had expected and I'm so so thankful 💕
(SUCH a nervous wreck in the last video)
My student film is now up on Vimeo. George and I were excited about making this film.
A lot has changed in those two years, but my love for Cinema hasn't.
I present Love Existensia, made while in school, no money, with two friends we begged.

Thank you all for the birthday love, truly.
I had my first meal yesterday by 6pm because work will always destroy birthday swag. I saved up to get a camera for myself this year but tinubu mehn.
Anyway,
@dumsurfer88
drew me and I'm aliveeeeeee.
Next year, same place, same time?
I lost my mom on Monday. In the midst of the chaos of things, words fail me. She worked for 30-plus of her 54 years, sacrificed year in, year out. The fact that she's gone without enjoying what her labour wrought hurts more than anything in this world. Till I find the words.
This is as good a time as any to mention that I'm a writer for hire. I can write your screenplays, your articles and your YouTube scripts. I will write your enemy's name in the death note if it's paid for 😭.
I have decent rates and I stick to deadlines (prompted by money). Esé!
Made four shorts and a doc, and my debut won an award at a virtual festival in London and my second (only two released so far) has shown in Lagos and Abuja to some great reception.
I met a filmmaker this night who I had written about a year ago, and it's just crazy how much has changed in my life over a freaking weekend. So many admired filmmakers grace my contact list. It's time to pitch the most outrageous story ever scripted.
S16 2023, signing out.
This is the ranking from the creators of the show. Korra is 4th. Kuruk is 3rd. Kyoshi is 2nd, and Aang is 1st.

12 days at the hospital. We are out. My mental health is in tatters, I'm tired cause I still had to make commitments over the weekend, but my family is alright and that's alright with me.
Lagos! Pleased to announce that
@oduwolebayo
's film will be showing in Lagos on the 1st of September along with many other exciting events and occurrences. I loved working with him on this and I can't wait to see everyone there. Tickets in my replies!
For those who'd love to watch films and talk about them, there'll be a screening at WAF this Thursday, curated by Rachel Ojuromi. It's a lovely time and it's free too (aside from the waf gate fee thing). Can't wait to see you guys!
It was the first, but we cooked like it wasn't.
Then, Mike Gouken commented on my IG; my shoulders didn't come down for weeks.
AND when
@Gzy____
met him at the Q &A of a theatrical showing of JUJU STORIES, he remembered our film. Shoulders didn't come down for months. A big push.

The person that called this Tim Burton's AI mood board; I hope you're having a really shitty day, replete with hitting your toe on surface edges every five minutes.
The bro collected 10k from us because we were shooting at a beach in Tarkwa, after paying for entry and for chairs at base. It's insane how brazen the negro was.
Anyway, film is a WRAP. That makes it 5 short films made in varying capacities this year.
2024 we'll see 🫵🏿.
Abuja! Pleased to announced that our film All The Places I Once Loved You is returning to your (indie) screens at The Process Africa's event.

Some great news; we screen in Ghana today at the African Film Society's Classics in the Park Festival (special edition). So grateful to everyone involved in this. The event is at Akola Boni Park, Osu.
In other news, can't wait to show you what I have in store for the year ❤️

For

I chronicled my experience at the

over the last weekend.
I wrote a few words on the diversity of voices displayed at the festival and the Collective's devotion to giving a platform to new voices.
Pleased to announce that our film will, once again, grace Lagos screens at the film bloc at the Creative Bloc.
@Retepoki
and I worked hard on this, as did our cast members
@enochitua
and
@allisonajadi
, and our crew member
@_AstrO_O
. I'm eternally grateful to you guys.
Stop engaging bait tweet pages o; they pay them now. A verified page that calls Austin Butler, Pugh, Gosling and Anne Hathaway among others, the worst actors of all time, is run by someone with bills due.
"Anne was nominated for razzies so she's a terrible actress." 🙁
A big thank you to the team at fenmorestudio and the institute for selecting the film for this and I hope the lovely people of Abuja enjoy it as well.
Big ups to

An unforgettable experience. So grateful to
@jimiiagboola
for the opportunity to show our film at his screening. So grateful also, to be able to meet members of the film and art community and for the privilege to also see your amazing film.
@Gzy____
, we did a thing!
I work multiple freelance jobs with a full time job. I also make my own films and I workout every morning without fail.
I see a film or two (sometimes more) a day.
This, I'm afraid, is a skill issue.
I fucking hate film tik tok. How can you watch 400+ films in a year?? thats more than one a day,, are you not working? are you not travelling? Is there not just a day where you don’t want to watch one? are you not exercising? Fuck out of here
I honestly hope it went well, given I'm a filmmaker surviving on NYSC allowance and a trip to Ghana would have ruined me financially. Fund my crazy ideas please, they're how I deal with being born in Nigeria.

Hey guys. I need you help with a short story competition I entered. I need to secure a minimum of 30 likes on the site for my short story to be shortlisted for the prize. Ejoor, twitter, do your thing 🥺🙏🏾. Link below. The name is remedial torture 🥺.
I ALWAYS marvel at

commitment to watching films and obsessively documenting their experience watching said films daily.

Born to be a radical, reclusive film critic-cum-lover; forced to yap, stare at the moon thinking of her, shake my weary fists at the sky, say "it's calm" when it isn't and generate invoices.
First off, I liked the doc, but the best part of the entire film was this 18 second interview 😭😭😭😭😭. I have tears in my eyes.

Hello. I made a mini-doc for a fellowship I did not get in the end.
Here it is;
It was shot by my friend Francis and me in the hot Gbagada sun and also edited by Francis and me in the hot Victoria Island sun.
I wanted to figure out the tech of Film.
Hello,
I am once again, in search of freelance jobs.
I'm a screenwriter, ghostwriter and a content writer. Whatever you may also need in the world of fiction writing, I can ably provide at a decent rate.
Below, ever so linked, are samples of my work.
Btw, for my art peeps in Lagos, there's a monthly film screening at Alliance Francaise, Ikoyi by Screenoutlouder. The curator, Derin, puts up some spectacular films and this Sunday, there's a double billing of Pumzi and Night of the Kings.
If you're free on Sunday, 5pm.
Free.
