Has anyone ever seen tiger stripes on cool season turf? This is Kentucky Bluegrass that was installed a month ago. Temps have been above avg until a hard freeze and 60mph wind/snow event hit us on March 12. A week later, this is the look. I've seen it on Bermuda, but not KBG.

Here is the only Bermudagrass youll find in Highlands NC. I’m told @universityofga and @USGAGrnSection did cold tolerance research here in the mid 1980’s, and my only guess as to how it ended up here. This spot hasn’t gotten bigger nor smaller in my 21 years at Highlands CC.

I satisfied my own curiosity today by running over 60ft2 of green, 10x with a @DryJect machine. The video shows 6 of those times. Needless to say, the surface is now an inch taller than that around it. 😂 It kept taking it like a champ! Thank you @Turf_Dynamics

Shared the No2 experience with my daughter yesterday. One of the greatest US Opens. 1999, living in St Andrews, I watched from the @DunveganStA . In early Oct I spent time with Payne in St Andrews during @alfreddunhill cup talking @psufootball and 2 weeks later, he was gone.

If there are two jobs I love to do, it’s plowing snow and marking the golf course. I am very particular when it comes to paint and the how vivid the line is. I found this device on Amazon and my first can of paint nearly got away from me. Anyone use something like this?

Just when I thought we’d have a nice dry day, we end end up with a 1.5” thunderstorm. YTD total now 95.1”. If things remain the same, we’ll finish the year at 143” of rain. Record is 130” set in 2005.

I got beat yet again by a 15 year-old girl with her 73. I did WD on 5 holes to get drone shots for my man, Steve Mason. Course always in great shape. Walked 18 holes and stayed 6’ apart. It’s not hard to follow rules.
