I kind of can't believe this works! Found these insane techniques for turning wavetables into colour bass wavetables inside of serum!
No post processing this is just using the wavetable editors!
In 1st video I do have a wavetable I made in the 2nd oscillator, 2nd video only 1
All The Colour Bass Sound Design Techniques I know:
-Pitchmap/Retune
-Resonators
-Convolution Reverb
-Phase Cancellation
-Distorting Melodics and Sine Sine Subs
-Treating Chord Sounds as Basses
-Morph/Mmorph/Vocoder
-Match EQ
-Layering
-Digitalis
-Additive Synthesis

BTW these are the settings if you want a Cm scale:
You can choose the scale using the Formant Knob. For example 0.65 would shift it up to C
#m
and -1.35 would be Bm.
Low BW = more ringing
High BW = more detune
I also recommend messing with this in Noise mode too!
had a dream I was at a rave talking to a girl and she told me about a genre called “hit em” that is in 5/4 time at 212 bpm with super crunched out sounds thank you dream girl
Colour Bass has so much potential we have the techniques now to literally combine any sound with melody while preserving its texture and I think we can explore further expression as artists through this
@ChimeTunes
One of the main things for me is that it seems way more focused on impressing Producers and DJs rather than just making good music for general listeners. Maybe I am wrong?
Colour Bass techniques in Serum:
-Comb filters as resonators
-Subtract Spectra from Other OSC
-Set Spectra from Other OSC
-FFT editor method
-Resynthesis to wavetables
-Parser formula
-Melodics in noise OSC

Ice Queen is OUT NOW!! The link to the compilation:
Please support the artists on the comp! All the tracks make me go wow! Thanks so much,
@rushdownrecs
for including my track!!
Friendly reminder, you do not need to go out and buy expensive plugins to add tonality/"colour" to your basses. You can create colour bass easily with free plugins such as Vital or your DAWs stock plugins.
Why is it sometimes I feel behind with my skills as a producer in comparison to other artists? I feel this right now but I also see others seemingly referencing this feeling as well? We are all just people that make stuff.
Does anyone else have a moment where you make a sick drop but it is just looping and don't want to make it into a track because you feel like it would be ruining it?

Hi Everyone! I have decided to leave distrokid so my music will be taken down from all stores! I am thinking about using repost instead unless anyone has other suggestions?

On the technical side, if you are using compressors, use them in combination with sidechain EQs by cutting from 200hz and down so that the sub-frequencies of the kick and bass don't trigger the compressor as much.
It surprises me that the more fluent I get with music production, I don't feel as creative. It feels almost like I am playing a game instead and whatever I do in that flow state is just honing in to what my mind is receiving from whatever causes ideas to exist.

I find it really interesting that it seems that listeners want new music to be very different but exactly the same as older stuff simultaneously. How do we go about achieving this?
🎉 GHOST v1.0 is released 🎉
You can now buy (probably) the most unreasonably over the top FM synth you've ever played with for $199 US. Free demo available on my website.
It comes with some pretty nice presets made by very talented people. I think you'll have fun with them.
How do people make fully atonal heavy stuff? I really admire people who make that stuff because I can't for some reason mak it without it having some melodic elements. I feel something else when listening to heavy stuff it is so cool!
Hi! Just in case you missed my other tweets about it:
2 new releases from me tomorrow! Icicles coming out as a single on my main project and also a song called affection in our new project: Skulk! Any support would be appreciated!
