It's been a long time coming but pre-orders of Issue 13 are now available now in print and digital format through our store at and features an increased 84 fun filled pages on German football. RTs appreciated.
A thread…. My job, well the one that pays the bills anyway, is a Town Planner. The one thing that infuriates me (there’s actually quiet a lot) is when football clubs leave their historic grounds and have no regard whether the former use is built into the redeveloped site.
Death, slavery and suppression. Whatever peoples feelings are about the 2022 WC it’s quite clear that the level of protest in Germany against the tournament is far greater than in the UK. Yesterday at MSV Duisburg.

This guy had it all. BL, Zweite Liga, Pokal, Serie A , European Cup and UEFA Cup winners medals. Not forgetting a WC winners medal as well, in which he scored the winning goal. Andreas Brehme Ruhe in Frieden.
📚10 The Miracle of Castel di Sangro by Joe McGinniss - Sadly the author has passed away since this book was first published. In it he narrates the 'fairytale' of the extraordinary rise of a village team to the top of Italian football. A classic that's stood the test of time.
Safe travel to the
@f95
fans going to
@IpswichTown
next week. A great example of a fan friendship between two clubs. Trips to Portman Road started in 2006 and this will be the first visit since 2020 due to Covid. The Tractor Boys have reciprocated along the way with trips to 🇩🇪

Winning announced on Friday 13th March which will be lucky for somebody.
@bvb
@BlackYellow
If
@btsport
were serious about promoting German football they should have picked somebody more knowledgeable than Steve McMannaman as a co-comentator. He literally knows nothing and suggesting BVB would enjoy bragging rights in the city is just laugheable.
Winner announced in one hour!

To tie in with our DDR issue we're releasing accompanying terrace wear and the Sparwasser Bobble to celebrate that historic June evening. Knitted in the UK by craftsmen using traditional methods with the highest quality woolen yarns. Available tomorrow on
The first copy of Issue 1 was sold a year ago today. Little did we know what the intervening 365 days were going to bring. The outlook is beginning to look better and hopefully we'll be back in football grounds soon. Thanks to all the people who bought a copy of HV along the way
BREAKING
BIG W for German football fans!
All the protests, the tennis balls throwing, delaying the matches, remote control cars, seem to have worked as the planned investor deal in the DFL has fallen through.
Hans-Joachim Watzke, spokesman for the DFL Executive Committee
📚18 World Football Club Crests by Leonard Jägerskiöld Nilsson - A fascinating insight the design, meaning and symbolism of football clubs crests. Includes a detailed chapter on 🇩🇪 clubs including
@fcstpauli_EN
.
The last 12 months have been pretty crap for everyone, myself included. Thankfully this has kept me sane in the intervening period and all the lovely people I've met along the way. 5 issues produced in lockdown , at this rate I'll be needing more wall space soon.
Issue 5 - The GDR/DDR special out in early March. A look at football in the former East Germany spread over 80 pages including our cover star Toni Kroos in his best David Bowie impression. Pre-sales now available at
This beautiful map is at the heart of our current issue. A sincere thanks to David of
@SportsClubMaps
for supplying it. This and other football related material are available to purchase via their Twitter page.
Don’t know whether readers will be happy/unhappy ( ✅ as applicable) but we’ll have to commit to another eight issues if only to fill up the wall space.
This time last year we did not exist. 12 months later we've produced 4 issues, each one bigger and (hopefully) better than the last and picked up nearly 2,500 followers on Twitter. Out first issue coincided with the start of the pandemic, hopefully 2021 will be a bit more normal
Just in time to ruin everyone's weekend the new issue of Halb Vier is available to pre-order at . Issue 9 should be out for the third week in February.
The printed version of Issue 3 of Halb Vier is currently available for pre-sale at . Copies will be posted out at the end of August so don't miss out as Issues 1 and 2 sold out.
So glad I made the trip to Berlin. With additional safety measures in place now I think this will be last trip for a while😭 Friday night was a trip to
@TennisBorussia
and their wonderful Mommsenstadion.
It's taken a LOT longer than we anticipated but pre-orders of the print copy of Issue 12 are available to purchase at our store . It's a special on football in Berlin and will be posted out in early April . Believe me it was worth waiting for
So happy to get physical copies of issue 5 in my hands, I think you'll like it! Pre-ordered copies will be posted out tomorrow onwards. Some copies still available at
Just started Scheisse! We’re Going! Up! which tells the human stories behind Union’s fascinating history. Written by
@KitHolden
it's the first ever English-language book on the club. Published in August by
@Duckbooks
. Based on the first few chapters everyone is in for a treat
Printed copies of issue 6 will be posted out over the weekend. 80 pages on German football in glorious technicolour (including the blackout cover) what more could a person want. Copies/subscriptions still available at
We'll be announcing details on Issue 9 over the weekend. In our opinion it's our best issue so far (he would say that) but we need your support even more than ever particularly as printing costs have gone up 16% since the last issue😡
A must visit football ground in Berlin even though there's no game on this weekend. The Poststadion, the scene of the infamous game in the 1936 Olympics where Norway beat Germany 2-0.
Despite my major misgivings for a ‘reserve team’ to be in a national league (or a regional league for that matter!) Die Rote Erde is well worth a visit. It’s a perfect time capsule of what football was and what it is now.
Sad to hear of the recent passing of Noel Campbell who was the first Irishman to play in the Bundesliga with
@fortuna_koeln
. Noel played for the club between 1971-78 and will be sadly missed by all. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. Ruhe in Frieden.
Issue 8 should be back from the printers towards the end of next week. For some reason sales so far are significantly below that of previous issues. So if you like what we do please buy a copy or tell someone who may be interested. Many thanks Halb Vier
In the famous 1974 WC clash between the two Germany’s, Sepp Maier changed his jersey at HT (black then green) to avoid a clash with the referee. To commemorate this our new hat will be on sale from our Big Cartel store tomorrow. Limited issue so best get your orders in quickly.
📚4 Behind the Curtain by Jonathan Wilson - Any book by
@jonawils
is worth reading but this is my favourite one. Part travelogue and part historical it captures the footballing world, in Eastern Europe, after the fall of Communism.
Pre-orders of Issue 12 are now available now in print and digital format through our store at and features the usual 80 fun filled pages on German football. RTs appreciated.
Happy Christmas to all our readers and followers. We’ve been a bit quiet recently but we’ll be back bigger and stronger after the festivities, with a new issues in the offing as well.
After the sub-standard offering the last time around we’re back with the usual sticker providers for the next issue. These will be available for current subscribers.

These replies are why we fucking hate premier league fans, if you want to be treated like cattle by your clubs, fine.
Don't judge us for owning our sport.
This isn't just some random ultra, this is the 'leader' of all of SVDs fans.
He's not berating them, he's motivating
Here's the front cover to Issue 2 which will be on sale from 6th June onwards at . There's 72 pages packed into this issue which will still retail for £5. Digital editions will be available at £3.
2023 is just around the corner and one of my NY resolutions will be to get to as many iconic Germany grounds as possible. Top of the list are Alfred-Kunze-Sportpark (Chemie Leipzig), Ellenfeldstadion (Borussia Neunkirchen) and Grotenburg (KFC Uerdingen). What are yours?
First up Lübzer Pils, a new one on me. Comes from Meckleburg-Vorpommen and first brewed in 1877. Quite full bodied and a solid start to the day 7.5/10.
Book 1 Nobody should be without this book. Tor! - The story of German Football by Uli-Hesse Lichtenberger. It gives people a great insight into 🇩🇪 football from the founding days to the early Millennium. Written in English with an English speaking audience in mind.
New profile picture..... that can only mean one thing! It's taken a lot longer than we first anticipated but the files for
#12
are off to the printers today. It's our second 'special' after Issue 5 and the DDR. No prizes for guessing the subject matter this time around.
When fans are allowed to travel again and football grounds are open for spectators, what grounds in 🇩🇪 would you like to visit first? My top three would be;
TSV 1860 Munich - Grünwalder Stadion
Borussia Neunkirchen - Ellenfeld
Berlin AK 07 - Poststadion
Issue 4 has arrived today from our printers and will be posted out to customers over the next few days. Printed and digital copies available to purchase at
📚11 The Turning Season by Michael Wagg - In this book
@michaelwagg
revisits the 14 clubs that played in the 1989-90 DDR Oberliga. He has kindly written in Issue 4 of Halb Vier about his experiences and the book is a must read for all fans of Ostalagia and German football alike.
Issue 4 is due back from the printers later this week and will be dispatched straight away. This is our biggest issue yet. Copies of 4 and subscriptions to Issues 4-6 available at .
I'm going to partake of one or more alcoholic beverages now, so a Happy New Year to all our readers and followers. We've met some great people in 2020.. so the year hasn't been that bad. Hopefully 2021 will bring our football back at some stage.
Putting final touches to no. 4 before it heads off to the printers. We've bowed to pressure and once again are featuring
@f95
and their relationship with their neighbours 50KM down the Rhine. We've enticed Dutch author
@janwillemspaans
to write the piece. Photo -
