Who’s still stuck on jacob saying the intimacy coordinator is there to set a distance between his mouth and a victim’s neck? so payback hickeys are just for him and his boy best friend?
the writers have made anti-blackness so omnipresent at that trial, from santiago’s mocking reading of claudia’s diaries and painting louis in predatory stereotypes, nailing them to the stage like set dressing and showing leniency only towards madeleine, to calling it a stoning
sam saying he wants to see louis and lestat destroy each other and then get back together meanwhile jacob is just like ‘yeah i’m writing a script where they sit on a bench and talk for four hours’
armand chiming in that lestat leaves you ‘with no sense of what is and what is not’ is so ballsy considering he got caught sticking his fingers in people’s brains twelve hours ago
you were all laughing at Armand for saying he was unable to move because the vampire sam was guarding him, meanwhile the vampire sam is the only one walking out with his head on his shoulders
this is making me wonder if the new fans know about the unlit candles? the cord they couldn’t cut? the sticker shop date? do they know the coffin was more comfortable with sam in it?
Who’s still stuck on jacob saying the intimacy coordinator is there to set a distance between his mouth and a victim’s neck? so payback hickeys are just for him and his boy best friend?
consider the possibilities: Louis in leather pants and leather jackets, riding on the back of lestat’s motorbike, hugging his stomach, photographing his husband on stage
so let me get this straight… they shared a trailer wall and jacob asked him if he’d mind loud music and he could hear sam singing through the wall and they’d text through the wall and they’d sit on the stairs together
I knew he lurks because he’s admitted to it before but this has me thinking… him seeing things people say about a certain consensual workplace relationship doesn’t sound like a joke anymore
and it’d be ridiculous to think that wouldn’t be textual since everything that’s happened so far has been altered inextricably from page to screen by the fact that they are now black
I think one of my favourite things about jacob’s performance, that maybe not everyone is aware of, is that he acts out his whole narration by memory when he doesn’t even have to
‘I’ll probably never have a cast like this for the rest of my life’
and he’s right, this is what happens when you cast a bunch of semi-unknown theatre actors, who are without ego and ready to give it their all every day
‘The decision to cast Claudia as Black makes her a victim of race, gender and age bias. […] The one thing she chooses, a relationship she manages to form in spite of this, is denied her, a consequence for partaking in the illusion of choice.’
falling apart thinking about lestat saying ‘new orleans is my home, i am she, she is me’ when we know the city was his home because it’s where he met louis, and now he’s been living in it for seventy years without louis
Interview being on netflix is an integral step in the plan to make jacob anderson an emmy and grammy winner, a household name and the face of a fashion house, trust the process
Armand writing ‘we need an animation here, it’s not clear how extreme the hoarding was’ in the script margins is just so insanely evil, he was really fine tuning louis’ humiliation and making a caricature of him
JUST IN: Netflix in the US is getting a bunch of AMC shows!
PREACHER, FEAR THE WALKING DEAD, and INTERVIEW WITH A VAMPIRE are among the confirmed shows coming...
one thing I can’t comprehend is lestat believing louis was dead at least for some time after 1973… like are you stupid, get up, do something, check your sources
there’s really nothing that can come close to the high of experiencing that first press run as it was happening, just a dozen of us pointing at them and going hey aren’t these guys acting a little gay
there is so much here, him playing it off as being focused on work, his need for domesticity making him relate to louis, omitting the fact that he was with sam at these times
one thing even crazier than eric constantly saying he always wanted to play a vampire is him admitting over and over again he joined the show because of jacob anderson… let them smooch at least once, damn it
jacob anderson is so charming and gorgeous, i wish his face was everywhere- on butter wrappers, on milk cartons, on fridge magnets, cinema screens and department store windows, i wish i could see him when i close my eyes
every week watching Interview with the vampire feels like discovering what they made television for, like they made transmission of moving images possible for this show to be made
assad zaman is revelatory as armand, just as dangerous and screen-consuming in his stillness and control of movement as he is in explosive anger. he feels like someone that should be on every television screen from now onwards.
‘No one’s watching it to hear our writing’ he says about the tightest, most beautiful bit of writing made for television screens right now… rolin, be less humble please
What am I supposed to do with myself after that ‘Interview With the Vampire’ season finale? Maybe do a deep dive into the show with showrunner Rolin Jones.
Louis’ guilt about everything that he is is the most devastating thing on the show for me, and more so his guilt about the things that were done to him or the circumstances that shaped him, things out of his control
‘INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE’ season 2 holds a score of 88 on Metacritic, indicating universal acclaim.
Tied with ‘BABY REINDEER’ as the best-reviewed show of 2024 on Metacritic.
there’s this weird condescension when talking about jacob and assad having interviews together as if there’s not an entire genre of video interviews called ‘notes on a scene’ where costars break down a scene, regardless of if their characters are lovers or enemies
to be honest I’m just a little scared because it sounds like a big swing, and some of those books plots sound like a doozy to me as a show watcher but hopefully it all works out…
@yvespolastri
the press somehow got worse this season in general but they got more shameless… telling us their dinner orders unprompted, campaigning for a side show where they just make out and do nothing
‘high windows, through which enameled bits of civilization glitter. silhouettes emerging, wandering out to catch a silent flash of lightning. the silky warmth of summer rain. desperately alive...and desperately fragile.’
