I guess I shouldn't be s gleeful about this caucus mess, but after all the years when Iowa has gobbled up attention and dollars with an anti-democratic, low-turnout process that they celebrate as "democracy in action", this feels to me like Karma on steroids.

The traditional SOTU speech is a laundry list of policies. Biden should devote his entire speech to Ukraine and what is at stake. Given the unity with the EU and the incredible courage of the Ukrainians, it can be tough-minded and optimistic. (1/2)

I am obviously "prejudiced", having worked in his Senate office and campaign, but think Al Lowenstein was right when he said RFK's death gets harder as the years go by. He was 42; whether he'd won or not, his voice would have been important for decades.
