I apologize in advance, but I will probably never stop sharing photos of the Ashby, MN EF4. Somehow this was my first tor and it made me instantly fall in love with storm chasing.

Finally getting around to editing some photos from Thursday’s amazing chase in Kansas. Here’s one of my favorite shots of a funnel underneath the mothership. Great chase!
I was told there should be no unposted photos of Ashby....so here’s one more. What an incredible and unique tornado this was. If you look closely you can see the tube extend all the way up.

One year ago today I witnessed the Ashby EF4. This was my third storm chase and first tornado, and it ignited an absolute obsession with storm chasing in me. It’s still surreal to me looking back at the pics from this day!

Monster supercell and tornado outside of Industry, Illinois yesterday. About 20 seconds after taking this photo, our view filled in with rain and my car was attacked by massive hail.
Patiently awaiting winter on Lake Superior. This is one of my favorites from last winter of the sunrise shining through the inside of an ice cave. I’m thankful for thick wetsuits and underwater camera housings to make these shots possible. ❄️
An electric storm rolling through Badlands NP a couple of nights ago. It’s always a blast when I can blend my love of storms with landscape photography.
One of the most interesting stages of the Ashby tornado as the vortex danced. It was pretty nerve wracking to watch this tornado slowly move towards this farm and just narrowly miss it. What a sight!

bandwagon and sharing four of my favorite images from my first two seasons of storm chasing! What a ride it’s been already.

Another shot from last week’s regional tornado outbreak in Illinois. I still can’t stop thinking about this chase. What a day and unexpected surprise for August.

Quote with your first tornado! This is actually my third tornado, but the first I recorded on the ground. Mainly uncondensed, thankfully leaving no real discernible damage outside of crops. EFU, June 5th, 2024 in Boonsboro MD.
A fairly close range shot of the Creston, IL tornado from a couple weeks ago. 🌪 I think I see

Tornado shot that I never shared from last Friday near Dougherty, IA. I can’t believe how great this August was for chasing in the Midwest.
