Posting a wolf running through an area of forest cleared by logging to catch its natural prey and being outraged at the wolf is so ridiculous itโs comical
A logger from northern St. Louis County just sent me this video of a wolf running through his job site and taking down a whitetail deer. As you can see, wolves lost any fear of humans and are increasingly dangerous to livestock & pets and decimating our deer herd. Delist!
today Alfie got trapped in this situation. He was too scared to go further outside because he is scared of the ladder, but he was also too scared to go inside because he is scared of the mop behind him too. His only option was to stand between the two and whine
This video was originally posted with the correct identification, being a big-eye jellyhead octopus but a content scraper reposted it as a vampire squid for some reason so now weโre stuck in a loop of all the content scraper accounts stealing the incorrect ID from each other
so many peopleโs view on animals is poisoned by the thought that an animal has to be useful to us. I wish more people could see each animal being a unique part of the legacy of 100s of millions of years of evolution as something that is beautiful and worth saving in and of itself
@shibawri
All these people saying some variation of โIโm neurodivergent and I agreeโ or โI have autism and Iโve never done thisโ
Like you are clearly not the same as this kid it is absurd to try and compare that because youโre both โneurodivergentโ
i think the people who like these dogs just have profoundly broken brains I saw someone defending them from the โthey can barely walkโ accusations with just โwhy does my dog need to be able to walk itโs not a wild animalโ
Seeing this video is actually what made me become really interested in arthropods I think.
I remember seeing it and being like wait they have more claws in their mouth? I must learn more
This is absolutely insane.
A group of tourists in Yellowstone was spotted exiting their cars and sprinting towards a mama bear and her two cubs.
One of the tourists had a child in his arms.
Did you know axolotls are a neotenic species which do not enter the ordinary adult phase of the salamander life cycle, in which they are land animals but if exposed to too high levels of iodine this can trigger the metamorphosis and turn them into a sad looking pink lizard thing
Olms sound like such fake animals when you describe all their traits
Oh yeah this animal is blind and lives in caves grows up to a foot long has been observed to not move for 7 years or eat for 10, aligns itself by earthโs magnetic field and has an estimated lifespan of 100 years
The is an olm, an aquatic salamander once believed to be a baby dragon in Slovenian folklore:
"Heavy rains of Slovenia would wash the olms up from their subterranean habitat, giving rise to the folklore belief that great dragons lived beneath the Earth's crust"

Normally I see this done by holding the turtle upright and cleaning it that way. Being upside down puts pressure onto their lungs and will cause respiratory distress or serious harm if done for too long
Zoologists believe foxes are currently trying to become domesticated.
Theyโre taking on cat/dog like behaviors hoping humans will take on the burden of feeding and caring for them because theyโre tired of the wild.
I just opened a garlic clove and it was translucent, orange, soft and bendy. I use a lot of garlic and this is the first time I have seen this. Apparently itโs called waxy breakdown and they still do not know the exact cause for it
Armadillos are cute, yes.
And no you cannot have one as a pet. The armadillo in the original video was rescued from wildlife smuggling. Leave โexotic animalsโ alone please
@Kyteau
Well first off the turtle is certainly not enjoying belly rubs. Itโs defensively attempting to bite what it sees as an attacker. Secondly turtles should not be left on their back as it caused their organs to weigh down on the lungs which can do serious damage.
itโs funny to think about how probably more than a decade ago someone probably used some imported soil in their garden they got from a garden center or something and now years later these American cicadas are there
WOW!! A woman on the Isle of Wight Nature facebook page just found three cicadas on the island! Reminder that Britain only has one known cicada species and it's very rare, and these definitely aren't it! Which leaves the question: what species are they and how did they get there?
thereโs a small back room where the ironing board and cleaning stuff like the mop is kept and once Alfie was in there and the ironing board fell and hit him so for years he absolutely refused to enter that room and everything from that room is scary to him
