“They decided...” Not the coaches, administration, media, or fans. The players decided that doing the right thing in school & as a person was COOL. Now they’re champions.
At some point it falls on you to decide what is cool & what isn’t. I’d probably choose the champion side...
7 Everett football players signed college offers today, with some players still making decisions. Over $2 million in scholarship money for group that averaged about a combined 3.5 GPA in the classroom. Proud is an understatement. They each deserve all the credit and more.
@OgbeniDipo
1. There are no hacks or shortcuts
2. Do the work
3. Respect the people around you, from the CEO to the janitorial staff. Everyone has a role in each other’s success.
@JamesALight
Had the pleasure of talking to Belichick once. Asked him how he always is able to set the tendency for the league and stay a step ahead. His answer was, “I look and see what teams aren’t using. If everyone is running a 4-3, there’s a lot of nose guards available.”
@JamesClear
Using the phrase, “I appreciate you,” rather than, “I appreciate it.” The world becomes a lot more genuine & relationships grow quickly when you acknowledge appreciation of the person instead of the action. Showing appreciation of a person will change your day & someone else’s.
With guys beginning to leave for college camp I want to say this: All former Everett players entering their first year in college, playing football or not, you can always reach out to me for guidance or help, even in 30 years with a family of your own. I’m always here for you.
Absolute pleasure meeting
@coachwaltbell
today, I was ready to run through a brick wall for you by the time you were done talking! Thank you for stopping at Everett,
@UMassFootball
scored big hiring you!
Everyone say hello to the newest member of the Bluestein family! Emilia Grace was born last night and is just as beautiful as we could’ve imagined. Mom was INCREDIBLE and both are healthy and resting.

Congratulations to Everett alum Mike Sainristil on being named team captain for Michigan Football! Incredible honor and true reflection of the man you’ve become!
I did this video for a former player for a college project but I see no reason not to share it with everyone. This can’t be a trend, this has to be a change. I believe in our community and this country.

Players crave a person to follow, not a position. They don’t care about job titles or years of experience.
Players care about how much you care about them.
Trust, confidence, and commitment are earned by the person you are, not the position you occupy.
I hope all of the guys I’ve had the absolute honor of coaching in Everett have an incredible season. I love you all and I’ll be rooting you on.
New chapter in a familiar town. I’m back home in Saugus and I can’t wait to get to work with the Sachems! Fired up to be home!
Of all the titles I’ve ever held, my favorite has been “Dad.” Now I get to do it one more time!

Having a player visit a school & send me this means the world to me. It means he’s focusing on culture & eager to learn how to lead & be accountable to himself & his team. This picture is from Boston College & their new stance on culture that
@CoachJeffHafley
has brought to BC.
Just realized today was the start of my 10th season in Everett. Just as grateful for the opportunity today as I was 10 years ago. Some A+ people in this city, and the students are just incredible. Can’t wait to get after it again tomorrow! Roll Tide!
#TidePride
Our number 1 goal as coaches needs to be to raise good men and women. We have such a unique opportunity, it can’t take a back seat to anything. Our society needs good people and good people is our business.
Top left is our first date back in 2007, we were 16, 13 years ago. Top right is our wedding day, 7 years ago today. Who would’ve thought we’d be where we are now. Happy anniversary to my angel,
@mrscoachblue
Couldn’t be prouder to be your husband! I fall more in love every day!
Happy Haitian Flag Day! I’ve had the pleasure of working with many Haitian students and coaches. Each of them have shown compassion and great joy in life, all while overcoming any and all obstacles. There is no limit to my respect for this great country and it’s people. 🇭🇹
Team Blue has a new member! We couldn’t be more grateful for all the love, especially from the Everett community & from current and former players. A nurse today said I was outnumbered by girls. I let her know there are dozens of young men in Everett that are part of our family!
Going to bed knowing that regardless of the results of this election, it is still in my control to be a good person and I will continue to wake up with the intention of being stronger and better for the people around me. Strength, compassion, and empathy come from within.
Seniors, don’t panic if you don’t know what you want to do with your life yet. There’s plenty of adults still figuring things out, myself included.
When you graduate:
Be kind to everyone
Compete at everything
Everything else will fall into place.

time, we will send Jaylen with his own set of scissors so that he can immediately cut the sleeves off his gear when he gets it.
This senior class is special to me because when I had them as freshmen, my mindset changed from “What can I do to win games,” to, “What can I do for these kids,” and I’m not sure how I’ll ever repay them for teaching me that. Thank you seniors! It’s been a fun ride. Love you all.
Defensive coaches: “That guy’s not in conflict.”
Also defensive coaches: “That guy’s totally in conflict.”
Also defensive coaches: “What even is conflict?”

Guys I want to take a moment and wish my best friend the happiest of birthdays. This woman is a super mom, my forever wedding date, and is obsessed with supporting our football team. I literally wouldn’t be who I am today without her. Happy birthday,
@mrscoachblue
The best part of this is the “4-6, A-B” announcement in the background. Meaning go 100% for the entire 4-6 seconds of the play, start to finish. Culture isn’t a poster or a hashtag, it is a constant, living entity within a team.
This is my wife & I after my Thanksgiving game senior year. I’m sad for the seniors who won’t get to play this game but I’m hopeful for a spring season. I hope you find comfort in your families tomorrow and know that your years playing are still special.
@SaugusSachemsAD
My favorite kind of Friday Night Lights back in action. So HAPPY to see these humans and watch them play the game they love! Also, what a WIN! 🏈

There’s no other words to say how I feel about the ongoing racism in this country other than this: I stand with you. My students, my athletes, my friends, my neighbors, I stand with you. Good people cannot do nothing right now. I stand with you and I always will.
Everett is a special place, very grateful to have had the opportunity to coach there. So proud of Mikey, Josaiah, & all of the players and coaches over the years. Grateful to know you all. This one is going to be special, Monday! Go Blue!

Very excited to start my 8th season in Everett tomorrow with the opportunity to coach a group of high-character student athletes. Another offseason in the books, let the fun begin!
Happy birthday to my wife
@mrscoachblue
I wouldn’t be who I am without her! Never mind an 8 year streak of attending football games, our home wouldn’t function without her. She celebrates your successes, cries with your struggles, & loves our “Everett kids” as much as our own.
The best part of seeing these offers on my timeline is that every one of these Everett student-athletes are elite individuals of high character, the kind of kids every program wants to be built around. Thank you
@UMassFootball
@CoachTUMass
You’ve offered some awesome kids!
Inviting college coaches that are interested in Everett recruits to reach out to me during your virtual recruiting period. I have access to film, character analysis, and most importantly, transcripts. Reach out and see the amazing group of young athletes Everett has to offer!
In the last decade, I finished my undergrad, finished my Masters, got married to my high school sweetheart, bought a home, had 2 amazing children, and found my passion in coaching football.
This decade has a lot to live up to...Happy New Year!
No one has ever regretted giving back to their community. Never forget where you came from and be the role model you had or you wish you had for tomorrow’s leaders.
My dad got season tickets when I was 14 & together we saw countless wins, championships, & broken records. I don’t usually get to games now because I coach and have a family of my own. I couldn’t miss tonight though. Like closing a very important chapter. Thank you Tom, Go Pats!
Just received a save-the-date to a former player’s wedding for the first time (hopefully of many). I try to be a good role model & build positive relationships and this feeling is incredible. This is what coaching is all about, so incredibly honored.
Had the opportunity to attend a college football game today and sat next to a group of about 12 pop Warner kids and their coaches, I believe, from Andover. Loved hearing them chant, cheer, and ask questions. Just a bunch of kids having fun. This is how we build our sport.
Nearly a 4 hour drive both ways to see
@BlackBearsFB
practice today and it was worth every second of it!
@Coach_Charlton
and staff have an ELECTRIC culture in place and it was a ton of fun watching them work. Thank you to Coach Charlton,
@Dean_Petzing
and staff for having us up!
What an incredible opportunity it was listening to, and meeting, all the amazing people and coaches at the
@CTNikeClinic
. Ready to digest it all and get to work!
All coaches worry about game day, but this is what coaching is really about.

Wow! Incredible graduation from Everett High School. Thank you to all the seniors that came, I couldn’t be prouder. Big thank you to administration and the city of Everett for making it such an amazing success. Congrats, class of 2020, Roll Tide!
Last night my car was stolen out of my driveway. No BCD. E+R=O. Nothing else to be done. The lesson is that my family is safe & all I can say is I hope the person that stole it finds some peace, I can’t imagine the struggle they must be enduring to have to steal a car.
Got this text at practice the other day from my wife. New mother of 3 basically home alone because Covid pushed football into the spring. Couldn’t be more grateful for her and all she does. I hope everyone finds someone who supports them like this.
I wasn’t a good football player. I had to make my mark by helping at practice. I started thinking about coaching because my coaches said I was a natural. I became a coach because I thought they meant in terms of football, but I found that relationships are far more important.
Just read it is

Well I have 3 amazing daughters, but I hope you know if I’ve ever had the pleasure of coaching you, I love you like a son. Tide Pride!
One of the most unselfish plays I’ve seen in 10 years of coaching. Young man has all the skills a coach wants and all the positive character traits that society needs. Love this young man
@mosesseide2
If any of our Haitian students need someone to lean on during this trying time, I know your teachers will be there for you. Feel free to reach out to me or any teacher you’d feel comfortable with to help you get through this. My heart goes out to all of you. ❤️🇭🇹
Again, there needs to be a new standard among men. I will never stand for any kind of abuse, particularly the kind being portrayed to young athletes today. I promise to

Stop the Violence football clinic in Lynn. Great group of coaches and athletes coming together for the sake of bettering their city. Need more of this in our communities!

Been contacted by 3 former players already that moved into college camp this week. For all our guys starting college ball for the first time or are going back for their senior year, I am so proud of each of you. Always here if you need me. Go show the world how great you are.
Incredibly proud and humbled to be part of this historic city and team for the last 6 years.
But my favorite ring will always be the next one!
