Genuinely gutted to hear of this. Mike is one of the bedrock foundations modern MotoGP has been built on and his contribution to the sport shouldn’t be underestimated. My heart goes out to Irene, his loved ones and the amazing IRTA family he sculpted. Truly sad day. 💔

Just confirmed to us @btsportmotogp by @JohannZarco1 that there was an offer from Honda. But he says “if you’re good enough to beat Marc on the Honda, you’re good enough to develop the KTM to being a top bike...” more on BT Sport 2HD, from 7.45am tomorrow...

Spoken to MotoGP Medical Officer Dr. Di Filippo, and he told me all 3 riders passed all the physical tests required by the medical code. I did question how you can replicate a near-300hp motorcycle... maybe the code needs looking at, if you are of the opinion they shouldn’t ride.

👉🏻 After first checks at the Medical Center of Mugello, @PirroRider was diagnosed with concussion and dislocated right shoulder, which was put back into place. The Full Body Scan done at Careggi Hospital of Florence was positive and there are no further complications (1)
