So excited to share our paper finally published on

in which we found large Maf family as a specific and robust transcription factor for type IIb myofiber determination.

One more exciting news for us since the last month! I am so happy we finally share our latest paper published in
@iScience_CP
. We generated MyoD KI mice as a new tool for muscle research.

Before starting new year 2024, am thrilled to share our preprint, which brings new insight into dusp13/27, playing a pivotal role in muscle stem cell transition from proliferation to differentiation. Out on

Distinct roles of Zmynd17 and PGC1α in mitochondrial quality control and biogenesis in skeletal muscle.
We previously found that large Maf regulates fast Myh4 expression (). Olson's group is now studying how large Mafs are regulated during muscle maturation. Super cool paper! We're thrilled that our previous work is getting attention from knowledgeable peers.
Happy to share our latest paper on the genetic circuitry of myofiber formation and maturation and a Maf-dependent transcriptional switch for fast muscles.
At the upcoming EMBO Muscle workshop in Italy, our student Shunya was selected to give an oral presentation in the first session! He'll be covering the role of Large Mafs in human skeletal muscle. I'll also be presenting a poster, introducing our MyoD KI mice

Proud to have made a small contribution to this intestesting project as a second author!!
Lunar gravity prevents skeletal muscle atrophy but not myofiber type shift in mice.

At the EMBO muscle meeting in Italy, our student Shunya gave his first international talk on the role of large Mafs in human skeletal muscle. He was super nervous, but we got great feedback from researchers at EMBO. Looks his first presentation was a success!

💡 Under the leadership of Drs. Ryo Fujita and Satoru Takahashi, a team 🔬 identified the large

I had a great online discussion yesterday with Dr. Stefano Schiaffino, a seminal scientist in muscle biology, particularly in the regulation of myofiber types!!
I’m so happy to have received valuable feedback from him.
Yes, more than 90% of the cells isolated from human muscles are positive for CD82 High in our hands (without FACS sort). CD82 is very good marker for human MuSCs.
